Sportradar Launches emBET To Promote Live Content Engagement

Sportradar announced Thursday the launch of emBET, a first-of-its-kind product that integrates real-time live sports betting content into Over-The-Top (OTT) live streaming.

emBET features live data and odds, insights and advertising into one product. The idea is to keep fans engaged with content for longer by informing them of the latest betting information and allowing them to place wagers with betting operators during live games/events they are watching.

“With audience consumption habits shifting dramatically, it’s more important than ever to create a dynamic viewing experience built on rich data and featuring compelling content. Doing so eliminates the need for fans to turn to second screens or competing channels, while also bringing in new streams of revenue,” Arne Rees, Sportradar U.S. CEO, said in a news release.

“As a global supplier of sports betting services and with more than 15 years experience in OTT, Sportradar has the technology and expertise to deliver a significant product to help broadcasters and rights holders maximize the sports betting opportunity in the US.”

Sportradar created emBET in partnership with LiveLike, a technology company that transforms audiences into engaged communities through interactive experiences and features.

Sportradar works with more than 1,000 companies in over 80 countries and is the official partner of the NBA, NHL, MLB, NASCAR, FIFA and UEFA.

It monitors, analyzes and delivers data and insights from more than 720,000 matches annually across 75 sports and annually streams more than 390,000 events live, representing 20+ different sports including its own betting streaming portfolio, as well as, OTT broadcasts.

Sportradar has looked for new revenue streams after Genius Sports replaced it as the exclusive provider of NFL stats and sports betting data. in April. Since then, it has partnered with two NFL teams, the Ravens and Jets, on marketing deals.
