World Series of Poker Launching Online Spring Super Circuit
The World Series of Poker is offering online players another major tournament option with the Spring Super Circuit event.
The Spring Super Circuit online poker tournament has a $1.75 million minimum guarantee and runs from April 10-27.
The buy-ins run from a $215 entry in a few events to $2,000 for a $150,000 No-Limit Hold-‘em Super High Roller 6-Max 2x Reentry event.
There are 18 events in the Spring Super Circuit series, culminating in an NLH $500 Freezeout 8-Max on April 27.
This event is one of three upcoming tournaments with 18 ring-winning opportunities each. The Summer and Fall Online Super Circuit events will also offer 18 rings to highlight a packed online tournament schedule.
WSOP Keeps Turning to Online Events
Last year, with casinos closing around the country and venues unable to host in-person tournaments because of the coronavirus pandemic, the WSOP offered a variety of online poker tourneys. That led to a hybrid online and live in-person format for the World Series of Poker Main Event. Damian Sala of Argentina defeated American Joseph Herbert one-on-one in the 2020 Main Event finale, capping an event with 1,379 entrants who played qualifiers online.
For 2021, the WSOP plans for a year-end $250,000 Online Circuit Championship with 256 entrants. Players can become eligible by winning a WSOP Gold Ring event in 2021, win a $10,000 player of the month award, win a second-chance Fast Forward event or be in the top 50 cumulative Circuit Leaderboard.
