Saturday World Cup Predictions:

So here it is, the last day of multiple fixtures at World Cup 2022 and betting sites have odds at the ready.

Tournament surprise package Morocco square off with Portugal to start the day’s proceedings at 3pm, and that is followed by the huge quarter-final clash of England and France at 7pm.

Both games promise to be intriguing contests as four proud footballing nations battle it out for just two spots in the World Cup semi-finals.

With so much on the line, we’ve looked at the key markets you can use some of your remaining World Cup free bets on ahead of the big kick-offs.

Morocco vs Portugal, Saturday, 7pm

You may not know, but this is the rubber match between these two nations at the World Cup.

The countries have met twice before at the tournament and sit on a win apiece - Morocco’s in 1986 and Portugal’s more recently at Russia 2018.

Morocco have been a stubborn force at this tournament, conceding just one goal in the entire competition (to Canada), and they are looking to go where no African team has ever been before - a World Cup semi-final.

However, despite seeing off neighbours Spain on penalties in the previous round, this Portugal attack is without question the strongest Morocco have faced in the tournament.

Fernando Santos has seen his charges net 13 times in four games so far, with six of those following his controversial decision to bench captain Cristiano Ronaldo last time out.

Key to their hopes has been the form of Bruno Fernandes, who leads the tournament in assists with three to his name.

Don’t be surprised to see him add to that tally on Saturday afternoon, and the odds on football betting sites for Fernandes to set a goal up for one his teammates are too tempting for us to pass up in this one.

Tip: Bruno Fernandes To Have An Assist In 90 Mins – 9/5 with Paddy Power

England vs France, Saturday, 7pm

There is a case to be made that both England and France will face their first serious opponent at this World Cup when the sides meet on Saturday night.

A very young USA side, who held Gareth Southgate’s men to a goalless draw in the group stage, have been the strongest opponent yet for England - with Senegal offering little threat during their last 16 encounter.

As for France, on paper their stiffest test should have been Denmark, but the so-called dark horses failed to show up in Qatar, meaning Tunisia take on the mantle of being Les Bleu’s toughest test to date.

As such, both France and England represent a step up in class for each other, and one wonders how they’ll fare when faced with a genuine contender for the World Cup.

In the match odds, France are the 6/4 favourites on betting apps, with England priced around the 11/5 mark.

That means a draw (2/1) is marginally more likely than an England win in normal time, and we like the look of those odds.

There are several ways to maximise value should you also feel this contest looks destined for extra-time.

Most World Cup games that go to extra-time end up being settled by penalties as fatigue sets in and intensity drops.

And what is an England World Cup campaign without penalty drama? You can back either team to win this contest via a shoot-out on Bet UK at 9/2, one of the best new betting sites, while predicting one team or the other to prevail on penalties is 9/1 apiece.

Tip: Either Team To Win on Penalties – 9/2 With Bet UK
