Bet365 are widely regarded as one of the world's best sportsbooks. They've been in the gambling industry (in an online capacity) since 2000 and now turnover more than NZ$2.7 billion each year. More than 45 million customers are registered with bet365 and the company has over 4,300 employees worldwide.
Over the years, bet365 has been able to claim a plethora of awards, including SBC Bookmaker of the Year four times, EGR In-Play Operator of the Year 5 times and eGaming Operator of the Year once.
Denise Coates is the head of the company and their ties to Stoke City football, of which her father, Peter, Chaired, means that they have an exclusive main-title sponsorship deal with them. They even have naming rights for ground, which is known as the bet365 Stadium.

bet365 have always had one of the best welcome offers in the industry and this one is no different:
Up to NZ$100 in Bet Credits for new customers at bet365.
Min deposit NZ$5. Bet Credits available for use upon settlement of bets to value of qualifying deposit. Min odds, bet and payment method exclusions apply. Returns exclude Bet Credits stake. Time limits and T&Cs apply.
To explain this into a bit more detail, new accounts can claim up to NZ$100 in Bet Credits when they deposit just NZ$5 or more.
The offer will be a match of your first deposit and then your first bet worth up to NZ$100. What's great about the offer is that you don't need to claim it straight away if you don't want to. Instead, you can claim it any time within 30 days of opening your account.
Once you trigger the offer you need to place a qualifying bet and have that settled within 30 days. You need to make sure bets are placed at odds of 1.5 (1.20) or greater. Any winnings from the bet credits will not include your stake and you may withdraw your winnings without any wagering requirements.
The registration process at bet365 is one of the easiest that you will find. You need to click the “join” button in the top right-hand corner of the screen to get started or you can complete this process from the app, which we talk more about later in the review.
You will need to enter information such as country of residence, personal information, contact info, address, login, security and other preferences (time zone, odds etc.).
Once you have entered your info, bet365 will then try and verify this from the GamStop database. If they can, then you won't need to send in any verification documents. If they cannot, then in order to bet, you will need to verify your account.
All you need is an identity document (passport/ driver's license) and a supporting document (utility bill etc.). Once you have done this your account will be ready to go and you can make your first deposit.
Whilst some may see the final step as a hassle, this is now becoming the standard for the betting industry. To be honest, if bet365 did not have this step, then we would be worried given that they should be setting an example, so this is a big positive in our eyes.
Bet365 have a strong range of banking methods, both for depositing and withdrawing. These include credit / debit card, PayPal, Skrill, Neteller and Paysafecard. Other payment methods are geo-specific, but do include Apple Pay and Wire Transfer.
You will need to withdraw back to the same deposit method that you initially used until the amount of the deposit has been satisfied. Once it has, you can then contact customer support to add in another method if you would like to change this.
There are no fees for any of the processes listed above and each start from as low as NZ$5 for a deposit and NZ$10 for withdrawals. Banking times state that credit/debit cards take between 2- 5 working days, but we know that they process these much faster and now most of them are completed within a couple of hours. This is by far the fastest time for this banking method that we have seen.
E-wallets such as Skrill and Neteller are pretty much instant for withdrawals as well. The only one that may take a little time is that of the wire transfer, which can take up to 5 days to clear.
The first thing to note with bet365 is that it's 100% unique. They use their own platform, with their own software and no other company has access to it. Given that so many bookmakers are the same these days, this is another glowing tick for the Stoke-based sportsbook.
The site has lots of nuances that take a little time to get to use to, mainly because it's so unique. Once you figure them out, it makes for one of the best bookmakers to use in terms of navigation.
A relatively recent addition to the site has been the search bar. This allows you to just type in the name of the team that you want to bet on or a certain market or even a sport if you can't find it. Given the size of the bookmaker, it's been a much needed and welcomed addition.
The app can be downloaded on both the Apple Store and the Google Play store direct to your mobile. This is an area that they constantly tinker with, but the latest version is the best, by far.
We liked that they include the menu bar at the bottom of the app, where most people have their thumb. This allows you to function the whole app with just one hand. It's an impressive feat given the screen sizes of smartphones these days and clearly, an area that a lot of thought has gone into.
Even though the desktop version is brilliant, it's the mobile app that's the start of the show for us, rating it as one of the best that we have tested.
There's a huge range of sports to choose from at bet365. All mainstream sports like horse racing and football are covered in huge depth. You'll find more football events in play here than at just about any other bookmaker, while horse racing from a range of countries can be bet on, including UK, Ireland, France, USA and Australia.
Other top sports are just as well covered. Weekly golf markets are up there with any other sportsbook, while the amount of tennis on offer (both pre-game and in-play) is very impressive.
Less widely offered sports and events are available at bet365 too. Niche sports like netball, kabaddi, surfing and water polo can be found here. While there's no WWE betting, you will find a selection of other TV / Novelty markets.
With a huge range of sports comes one of the most competitive pricing sections that you can find. They are consistently one of the best-priced bookmakers for just about all sports that they cover and have been nominated for awards based on pricing alone.
Whilst we always condone to use multiple bookmakers to get the best possible price for your bet, if we had to state just one place to bet, based on price alone, bet365 would be it.
It's tough to know where to start in terms of betting features, given that bet365 are so in-depth, but we think the best feature is their recently face-lifted in-play betting section.
We will admit, it's football that benefits the most from this, but all sports get access to the in-play section. What's great about it is that it's so in-depth. You get a wide range of stats for your match and you also get one of the best live match centres in the business. Not only does it highlight where on the pitch the ball is, but it even tells you who is in possession.
It all links in nicely to their live streaming section, so if you have access to the game, you can watch the match and the betting markets at the same time.
The bet slip is another great feature on-site and again, this comes alive when games turn in-play. You can select the “My Bets” tab from the menu at the top and then it highlights the bets that you have placed. When a game is live, it gives you a running text commentary, without having to enter that specific betting market. If you're an accumulator betting junkie, then you can see exactly what's happening in each game simply from the bet slip alone.
If we jump across to the horse racing section (pun intended) then you're going to see that they've two key linkups here.
The first is that of the Racing Post. With this, they can offer a detailed spotlight for all races direct from the magazine. You can also check out previous results for each horse and on top of all that, even watch the entire race for that specific horses last few runs. What's great about this is that you don't need to pay to access it and you can even skip to the last furlong of the video if you like to speed things up a bit.
The second part of this is live streaming. This is powered by Racing UK and it covers pretty much all races that take place in the UK. There is no need to leave the race card to access this as it's all inter-linked, but you will need to have placed a bet of NZ$1 or more on said race to watch.
There is a wide range of ways to contact bet365 and overall, their customer support is prompt and knowledgeable. Live Chat is available on site 24/7. You can also get in touch by phone or email. Their address is listed on site too if you're so inclined.
Responsible gambling plays a huge role on-site with bet365. They have a dedicated microsite that you can find out a huge amount of info on how they see their role within the industry and how they can help. They have ties with Be Gamble Aware, GamCare, Gambling Therapy and Gam Stop.
As soon as you sign up on site the responsible gambling triggers fire off and you won't be able to deposit unless you are fully verified. Whilst lots of bookmakers have the process now, we did feel that bet365 take their role as one of the biggest in the industry very seriously and set the example for others to follow.
Bet365 have been around for a long time now and it's clear that they have a finely tuned, well-polished online bookmaker. They are easily one of the best in the industry and it's clear to see why they have over 45 million players on site.
We struggled to find much negative to say at all and the number of features that they're bringing out on a seemingly weekly basis is insane. If you've not tried them, then we can confirm that the hype is real with bet365!Visit Bet365 Sports
