Coral Customer Scores £100,000 from £1 Football Jackpot Bet

November 14th, 2013

A lucky Londoner has managed to net himself a cool £100,000 this week, after placing a bet of just £1 using Coral Sports' Football Jackpot betting slip. The prosperous punter managed to predict which teams would win, lose and draw in an impressive 15 football matches across the country. While nearly all of the bets placed were settled in the English Premier League, it was Aberdeen’s late 4-0 demolition of Partick Thistle in the SPL that sealed the £100,000 win.

His other successful results included Arsenal’s comfortable win over Liverpool, Manchester City’s 7-0 annihilation of a lacklustre Norwich, and a tenuous draw between Tottenham and Everton. While there were some relatively safe guesses, such as Manchester United to beat a struggling Fulham side, there were a few surprises that went the punter’s way, including a shock win from Sheffield Wednesday over strong Championship side Reading. The only other Scottish game was for Motherwell to beat Hibernian, which they just about managed thanks to the Edinburgh side continuing their terrible form without a manager to guide them.

The London-based winner of the Football Jackpot decided to keep his anonymity when claiming the cash prize from Coral. However, the bookies first revealed the possibility of the Jackpot winner with a tweet made shortly after a free kick from Niall McGinn put Aberdeen ahead of their Glasgow rivals. “Aberdeen lead 1-0. If you listen carefully, you can hear our £100,000 punter celebrating in South East London.” After Aberdeen went 2-0 up courtesy of a Calvin Zola goal before half-time, the bookies had all but decided the deal was done, tweeting, “Aberdeen lead 2-0. We’ll start writing out that cheque for £100,000.” When Michael Hector managed to make it 3-0 with a smashing 20-yard strike, before setting up McGinn for goal number four, Coral announced the lucky win with this last tweet. “For the second week running, we’re facing a monster #FootballJackpot payout!”

If you think you can hazard a guess and successfully predict the outcome of 15 football matches, why not visit Coral Sports today and wager a pound on their exciting Football Jackpot.
