Microgaming's Mega Moolah Crowns Largest Ever Mobile Jackpot Winner

Add another record to the books for Microgaming's heralded Mega Moolah progressive slot game as it crowned the largest progressive jackpot ever landed on a mobile device over the weekend. The lucky player took home a whopping €7,968,311.26 from a single spin on Mega Moolah, beating the previous mobile jackpot record by more than €1.6 million.

Mega Moolah Shatters Previous Mobile Jackpot Record

Prior to Sunday's big win, the previous world-record for largest ever mobile progressive jackpot sat at €6,355,463.98. Unsurprisingly, this record-setter was also won playing Mega Moolah and was won just a little over a year ago. In June of 2015, a lucky player took home the more than €6.3m, capturing the world-record for Microgaming who lost that title to rival Playtech earlier that year.

But Sunday's massive almost €8 million jackpot awarded to a mobile player blew all previous records out of the water by more than €1.6 million. The lucky Zodiac Casino patron was taking a few spins on Mega Moolah when one single spin won him €7,968,311.26. Can you believe it? One minute the guy is taking a few spins on a familiar game from his mobile device, next thing you know he's a millionaire.

Apparently this wasn't Zodiac Casino's first rodeo with multi-million Euro jackpots. The German-based casino's Promotions Manager, Emma Hall, expressed the company's excitment to welcome the 6th member to their Millionaire Winners Club:

"We are absolutely ecstatic to welcome our latest multimillionaire ‘D.P.’ to our Millionaire Winners Club, bringing our total count of instant millionaires to six across our member casinos. D.P. claimed our fantastic signup offer at ZodiacCasino.com....The best news for everyone else out there is that the mega jackpot is already back up above €5 million and could be won at any moment by a Zodiac Casino player."

As Hall also pointed out, Mega Moolah's progressive jackpot is already up over €5 million at the time of writing despite just being won over the weekend. The slot game's jackpot resets to €1 million after each win but quintupling within a few days of the last reset is proof to just how popular this game really is.

Microgaming Keeps Records Rolling

Not only did the industry-leading Microgaming break its own mobile progressive jackpot record, the software-giant holds most of the world's records when it comes to progressive slots regardless of the platform. In October of 2015, Betway Casino - one of the top Microgaming Casinos on the market - awarded a Mr. J. Heywood a cool €17,879,645 after hitting Mega Moolah's progressive jackpot.

So now the slot-game producer holds both the mobile and desktop records for largest progressive jackpots ever won, titles almost every jackpot casino surely covets. John Quinn, Microgaming's 'Head of Casino', explained just how amazing it is for the software developer to now hold both records:

"With mobile gaming now accounting for almost half of all gameplay, it’s no surprise that we are seeing mega wins on this platform. We are extremely proud to have the longest-standing and biggest progressive jackpot network in the market, which also holds a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title. To now claim the largest ever mobile jackpot win is very pleasing. On behalf of everyone at Microgaming, congratulations to D.P. on this mammoth mobile win."

One reason the software company's progressive slots gain so much attention, Microgaming pays out all progressive jackpot wins on the Microgaming Progressive Jackpot Network in a full, lump sum. Players taking home all these millions don't need to wait for yearly deposits like with some lotteries or take a paycut to get the money upfront.

Could You be Next?

As previously mentioned, Mega Moolah paid out almost €8 million over the weekend yet is already up to €5 million a few days later. This should give confidence to any player thinking progressive jackpots are un-winnable. The record-holding slot actually averages a progressive jackpot win every 12 weeks or so, with the average win total topping €5 million.

So, on average, a random player takes home around €5 million every 12 weeks playing Mega Moolah with the chance at way more. Not enticing enough? Microgaming has a massive collection of slot games featured within their Progressive Jackpot Network including Cash Splash which averages a jackpot win every THREE DAYS!

If you're interested in becoming one of these lucky winners taking home a life-changing amount of money from a single spin then you need to start playing at one of the top Microgaming Casinos offering these topnotch progressive slots. Players looking to get started today can head over to ComeOn! Casino and enjoy a generous Welcome Bonus to get you started!
