PartyPoker has come a long way from its roots as a network of sites under the iGlobalMedia group in 1997. The once budding site developed into one of the biggest online poker websites available to the internet. However, PartyPoker is never one to keep a low profile or rest on its laurels.
This icon of online poker has recently begun implementing the first phase of an initiative to upgrade its site and bring about a set of improvements. Analysts predict further growth for the brand in the next five years, as it looks to maintain its market position as a major player in the poker industry!
Gaming industry insiders have been aware that PartyPoker has been carefully planning site upgrades for some time. As revealed by the company's Managing Director, Tom Waters, it knew it needed to show the poker site some TLC to ensure it maintained an excellent market reputation:
"We acknowledge that our poker product needed some love. We’ve been working on this project for a number of months with the support of a large group of players."
The support group Waters mentioned includes PartyPoker ambassador and expert poker player, Patrick Leonard and the large number of professional players affiliated to him. The firm has stated that the upgrades to the site will happen in two phases, designed to make things as painless as possible for online poker players.
The first phase was recently implemented with improvements to the gaming lobby and navigation starting with a new dimmed table environment to improve playing ambience and comfort for those who enjoy long sessions on the cards. The lobby also now includes collapsing filters for a cleaner look at gaming titles and faster navigation.
The site's revamp also features an ergonomically designed orange and black theme, replacing the previous grey and white montage. The new look of PartyPoker is of particular interest given the power of colours on human emotions and therefore the mindsets of online gamblers.
Orange is considered by experts to have a positive impact on creative thought and concentration, while being associated with energy, success and courage. It seems that the site has played an ace hand by creating a site that’s in harmony with the very essence of successful poker play.
In addition, PartyPoker has modernised the Sit & Go HERO lobby to create a clear distinction between the three- and four-handed games. The One Click lobby which was only introduced in 2013, has been removed. This backtrack by the Party brand is nice to see, since it demonstrates the fine art of listening to gambler feedback.
The feature was originally installed to enable players to save their favourite tables and launch with one click, but the company has stated:
"Almost all players prefer the traditional view."
The vision for PartyPoker is the creation of 'The dream poker room', which Waters hopes is on its way based on the initial feedback from test players:
"We’ve been testing the phase one release over the past couple of weeks and the feedback from the players has been extremely encouraging. There are many more enhancements in the pipeline and I’m confident that by the end of 2017 our players will be delighted with the improved look and feel and the usability of the software."
According to Patrick Leonard, the dream is certainly alive, with the poker professional stating:
"The upcoming software release is another step in the direction of getting our ‘dream poker room’."
Leonard and his players have been feeding information back to PartyPoker, as revealed in the recent press release:
"We see an improvement to the lobby and to the table, as well as lots of small tweaks all around the client. I tested the software with a dozen or so guys and the feedback was all extremely positive. We’ve given extra feedback about how to further improve the software and from now till the end of the year you should see additional impressive improvements to the overall software."
Phase two of the PartyPoker upgrades is planned to be in operation before the end of 2017, with further lobby and table updates said to feature a full-screen lobby, filter, display, game and tournament data enhancement, plus a plusher look to the table with more in the way of personalisation.
The phase one PartyPoker upgrades are now fully operational. Players taking part in the brand’s $35m Guaranteed Powerfest Festival, which runs during September 2017, can therefore look forward to gaming in a lobby designed by some of the world's most respected poker professionals.
Anyone looking to refine their skills or start their journey to poker stardom simply need to head over to PartyPoker now and signup for a new account. All new players will be awarded a generous welcome bonus to get them started on some of the world's top table games!
