What do you get when you cross partypoker, some of the best football stadiums in the UK, and up to £2.5 million in cash? The answer: the Grand Prix Poker Tour.
Organised in association with one of the largest poker clubs in Europe, Dusk Till Dawn, the Grand Prix Poker Tour is offering some impressive prize pools across its 12 stops, as well as the chance to play poker in a host of iconic football stadiums.
First up on the Grand Prix Poker Tour schedule was Chelsea's Stamford Bridge stadium, back in November last year. The opening event attracted an impressive 3,200 entrants, and after the betting was over, it was Sunil Mistri from Northampton who walked away with the £35,000 top prize. Following a successful start to the season, the Grand Prix Poker Tour then went online for its second event.
Later this month, the tour heads to Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium for its third leg. Set to run between 16-17th January, the tournament, which has a buy-in cost of £60 + £10, will once again be offering a prize pool of at least £250,000, as well as one of the best blind structures to be found within the price range.
Since value is paramount for both partypoker and Rob Young, the owner of Dusk Till Dawn, online satellites (qualifying events) are currently taking place on partypoker's website from as little as $0.01. What's more, anyone who takes part in the tournament will be treated to 30-minute levels (12 minutes in online legs) and rolling back of the blinds at the end of Day One. And, if you're lucky enough to win your way to Old Trafford, there will be an additional range of special promotions on offer.
The most impressive competition, dubbed the Golden Chip, is the offer of a brand new Porsche Boxster worth £35,000. To be in with a chance of winning it, simply visit the partypoker website and qualify for the £60 + £10 ($109) Old Trafford event via a dedicated Golden Chip qualifier.
Once you've done that, you'll have to work your way through the field and land on the final table by Day Two, with your Golden Chip intact. Anyone who manages this is rewarded with a dream holiday (or the £5,000 cash equivalent), which is then upgraded to a Porsche Boxster (or £35,000 in cash) if they win the whole tournament.
For everyone else taking part in the latest leg of the Grand Prix Poker Tour, there is also the chance to win a free ticket to the World Poker Tour event at Dusk Till Dawn, worth up to £2,200. Each time you make it to Day Two of a Grand Prix Poker Tour event, you'll earn leaderboard points, and if you can finish within the top 100 players at the end of the season, the ticket's yours.
Rob Young's goal has always been to make poker bigger and better, and the latest Grand Prix Poker Tour event certainly proves his success. Join the third leg of the tour for an affordable buy-in, and not only will you be able to play inside the Theatre of Dreams, but you could end up scoring a dream tournament in excess of £35,000.
