Six was the lucky number for one punter who, in his 60’s, managed to win £412,961 from just £2 placed on a Tote Scoop6 bet in his local branch of Coral Sports.
The self-employed punter, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed he was not a regular player of the Scoop6 bet. As he explained to Coral’s PR Director Simon Claire, "I thought I'd have a go given how much money was at stake. I was working for the first three races, but then my daughter rang me to say they'd all won, so I watched the fourth and fifth races on telly, and then had to go out so followed the final leg on the Racing Post website commentary. When the final horse won I didn't really know what to think and was amazingly calm."
Speaking of his customer’s triumphant win, Coral’s Simon Claire said: "He is the most deserving winner imaginable. He has been a regular punter for over 40 years and an enthusiastic lifelong supporter and fan of horse racing. If you get out of life what you put into it, then it is entirely fitting that horse racing has rewarded this individual with a life-changing win. That said, as he pointed out quite firmly, this win wasn't down to luck. He picked his six selections very carefully and his win was down to skill."
Not only that, but the anonymous winner could go on to become an instant millionaire if he correctly picks the winner of the Tote Scoop6 Bonus race on the following Saturday. He revealed his family already have ideas about the potential winnings. "My three daughters are already excitedly coming up with things to spend the money on, but I have spoken to the wife and we'll just put it in the building society and decide from there."
The 60 year old showed that the success had not gone to his head, leaving fellow punters with some wise words. "You come into the world with nothing and you leave it with nothing, so we'll definitely use it to enjoy life and experiences."
So if you want to be in with a chance of winning serious cash on the horses, why not visit Coral Sports today.
