Leicester Tigers Launch New App with Help from Leo Vegas

Sports betting firms continue to invest money into elite rugby, with LeoVegas Sports being the latest brand to support the growth of the sport. As part of its role as official betting and gaming partner to Leicester Tigers RFC, the company has just announced the launch of a new mobile app in conjunction with the high-flying Aviva Premiership club. It’s designed to take the match day experience of fans to new levels!

New Sports Betting Fan App Launched

Leicester Tigers are fourth favourites in the betting with online bookmakers to lift the Aviva Premiership trophy – and they’re determined to do everything possible to maximise fan power in their quest for glory during the 2017/18 season. The club's innovative approach will include using the latest technology to develop a fan app, created with the help of LeoVegas.

The Swedish mobile gaming company launched in 2011 and has established itself as a leading online casino and sports betting website. It offers a range of products including table games, video slots, progressive jackpots and video poker, plus sports betting with a diverse range of in-play markets, including live rugby union betting odds.

With an estimated revenue in excess of 83 million euros, they're well positioned to support a progressive rugby operation such as Leicester Tigers. The launch of the app followed hot on the heels of signing a three-year deal with the Tigers in January 2016, which will also see LeoVegas branding on players' shorts during the 2017/18 season.

Fan App Supplies News and Potential for Live Betting Stats

The fan app has been engineered to supply eager fans with the latest club news and to enable video uploads. In addition, it features a key Matchday Live function, which includes pre-match and post-game interaction, live commentary via text and Opta stats, all of which are in demand from fans.

The fact that rugby betting fans can now wager live during games via their phones has changed the face of the sports betting industry. And with more and more gamblers trying to get an edge over the bookie by making use of statistics, apps such as LeoVegas' are growing in popularity.

Indeed, many online sportsbooks are now catering to this demand by supplying punters with stats via their site and apps. If a fan happens to watch Leicester Tigers and thinks they look a value bet to win the Aviva Premiership at their current odds of 20/1, they can place the bet from the stands while munching a hotdog.

LeoVegas App Designed for Enhanced Fan Engagement

Leicester Tigers and LeoVegas are counting on the app to enhance fan interaction and build club spirit and vocal support for the coming campaign. It enables them to upload and personalise photographs of people with the Tigers' kit and Welford Road stadium, dubbed the #TigerHunt across social media.

Images will be displayed on the big screen before games. According to the Tigers’ Head of Branding, Chris Rose, the club is looking forward to a similarly exciting response to the app as it received when revamping the club's website:

"We had great feedback on the new website and so we're eager to see what fans will think of the Tigers' app. With such a huge following around the globe, it's important that we can reach all our fans – and with the app's smart and immersive platform we hope fans will enjoy its features for seasons to come."

Rose was also keen to highlight the role played by LeoVegas, whose technical expertise allowed the app to get off the ground, noting:

"A big thank you to LeoVegas.com, whose support has been unprecedented in updating the app."

In response, Head of LeoVegas in the UK and Ireland, Jon Sinclair, revealed the brand is equally as delighted with the launch of the App:

"We're a recognised leader in mobile gaming apps so we're thrilled to see the Tigers launch their app. We hope the fans enjoy its features."

Real-Time Technology Offers an Advanced App Experience

The app is also aimed at growing the Tiger and LeoVegas brands across the globe, with Sinclair commenting that:

"The Tigers have such a passionate and global fanbase, so it's great to be able to interact and engage with them on a whole new level."

LeoVegas worked with digital agency Clock to create the app, whose Account Manager, Beth Gavin, noted that its real-time website synchronicity makes it one of the most advanced rugby apps available. She explained:

"The app works in time with the new website, which means that even more content can be shared with fans. While the website will still be the go-to platform for the majority of Tigers content, the app will offer an interactive way for fans to get involved."

The Leicester Tigers' Leo Vegas App is available for free download from Google Play and the Apple App Store. Also, players can visit the Leo Vegas website directly to signup for an account with one of the top bookmakers on the web as well as download the new fan app!
