Royal Baby Betting: A Name Fit for a King (or Queen!)

It seems like only yesterday that Great Britain was wrapped in patriotic bunting to celebrate the marriage of Prince William to Kate Middleton. Now, shortly after their two-year wedding anniversary, the expecting couple are into the third and final trimester, with a royal birth anticipated in July. In honour of this, Coral Sports is allowing the general public to get involved by offering a wide range of Royal Baby betting markets covering all aspects of the birth, from the date and time to the weight of the baby.

The biggest gamble is the name, since the sex of the child is still unknown, although Coral Sports seems to think that it will be a girl (with odd of 4/11 at the time of writing) rather than a boy (at 9/4). The top four names are all girls’ names, with Alexandra the favourite at 9/4, followed by Diana and Elizabeth, both at 6/1, and Victoria just beyond that at 7/1. As far as boys’ names go, George is given the shortest odds of 12/1, while the Duke of Edinburgh’s Christian name, Philip, is next down the list with odds of 25/1 alongside Louis. Other kingly names such as Richard, Charles and James sit further out at 33/1.

Those who fancy their luck could take a cheeky punt on some Olympics-inspired names, with Bradley priced at 200/1, Mo at 250/1 and Olympia at a massive 500/1. Joining the Greek moniker at those odds are the more common titles of Colin, Stan and Brian.

If you think you know what the future prince or princess will be called, claim your bonus and visit Coral Sports today.
