RedZone Sports Review

RedZone opened their doors back in 2017. The company's goal was to offer an online sportsbook that was centred around US-based sports such as American football, basketball and baseball, whilst still being able to cover the usual suspects.

The company behind the brand are that of Argyll entertainment AG, who also power several other gambling products including Sport Nation who were formerly Bet On Brazil.

Part of the goal for the company was not to spread themselves too thinly, which is why they solely concentrate on players within the UK and Ireland. As a result, they hold a full gambling license from the UK Gambling Commission through Argyll Entertainment.

Superb for US-based sports Limited banking methods
Great layout on both desktop and mobile Feels small compared to some
Plenty of promotions for both new and existing players

The registration process at RedZone is broken down into three parts.

The first will require you to enter a series of personal information. This includes things like gender, name, DOB and email. Make sure that this is an email account you have access to as you will need to verify this later on.

The next step is contact information. This is your country, mobile number and address. Again, you need to make sure this is correct as it will need to be verified later in the process.

The third part is the account information. For this, you need to come up with a username and password, along with odds style, currency and any deposit limits you want to apply.

After these three steps are complete, you then need to verify your account to make a deposit. For this, you will need to upload documents such as driver's license, passport, utility bill etc. This is now a process that pretty much all bookmakers require to hit responsible gambling targets. It may mean that registration takes a little longer but trust us when we say that this is a good thing long term and we can only commend RedZone Sports for implementing this so soon.

Payments and Banking Methods

Banking is fairly limited at RedZone if we are being honest. There are just 4 methods that you can access – Debit Card, Trustly and Boku. Unfortunately, PayPal, one of the more popular deposit and withdrawal methods, is not available

Minimum deposits for all methods start from just £10 and the minimum withdrawal is that of £20. There are no fees in place for any transaction and the maximum that you can deposit at one time is £20,000.

Even though the range of banking methods are a little less than you might see from some of the bigger brands, as there are so few, it means that processing times are super-quick. They state the standard 2-5 working days, but we have had withdrawals back to debit cards hit our account within just a few hours.

Desktop/Mobile Experience

You get a solid looking design with RedZone, if a little familiar. The reason behind this is that they are powered by what looks to be an SB Tech engine. For those that don't know, SB Tech is one of the leading sportsbook design options and are used by a decent number of bookmakers in the industry already.

The sites pretty simple to use and if you're new, then it won't take a long time to work out how things work. We loved the inclusion of the search bar and unlike most, this one works!

There is no dedicated app to download for mobile devices, but the HTML5 platform means that it's highly versatile and works great with pretty much all screen sizes. We would go as far as saying that the design looks a little more polished on mobile than desktop and we can see why many choose to use this as their preferred method.

A downside to the lack of a downloadable app means that there is no Touch ID or Face ID features for log in. However, it's really simple to use and we don't think that the lack of features here deters from the overall experience.

Sports and Markets Available at RedZone Sports

As we pointed out at the top of the article, RedZone is keen to try and bring the US-based sports to the UK. They have a strong range of markets for American football, basketball, baseball and ice hockey as a result.

We must admit, they cover all these sports better than pretty much any bookmaker we've tested. The American football games, for example, have over 70 markets per game. They also include games from Canada and even college matches as well. Although, coverage drops off a little for the latter two, which is to be expected.

Outside of the US-based sports, coverage is still good. Football (soccer) and tennis are the two standouts and with each, they cover a huge range of leagues and tournaments. Horse racing has decent set of markets and races as well, although this is lacking compared to some of the bigger bookmakers for racing outside of the UK and Ireland. Beyond these, Rugby, Golf, Cricket, Boxing and E-Sports are available, among others.

Betting Odds with RedZone Sports

The pricing at RedZone is a little erratic if we are being honest. This is not necessarily a bad thing though, but if you're looking for consistently good odds, then these guys might not be your best pick.

We did like the enhanced odds section that they include on the site. This is updated daily and includes a handful of bets that are boosted around 20% or so. This boost is often enough to make them pretty much best priced in the industry, so it's well worth checking out.

Betting Features

We've spoken a couple of times already about the coverage of the US-based sports but for us, it's probably the standout feature on the site. We just so happen to be mid-season in the NFL as we write this review and the whole site is buzzing on the back of it.

They have a great range of markets to bet on here, which are split between the general bets, halves, quarters and then player bets as well. All games, including college and Canadian matches, will turn in-play as well. This then triggers the in-play match centre and you can follow the game as it takes places whilst also keeping an eye on the odds for each market below.

Cash-out betting has been a popular addition since that came in to play at RedZone. It works as part of the betting slip, which is fixed on the right-hand side of the page. The bet slip is a little large, although it's really clear and if you were new to betting, it highlights the different types, stakes and the amount you can expect back if it wins.

The in-play section allows for a feature called “fast markets”. These let the punter place a bet instantly when betting in-play and removes the 2-5 second delay that is usually applied to these types of bets. If you're a punter that works instinctively as you watch games, you're going to benefit massively from this.

We also enjoyed that you could favourite certain games and even markets within games to bring them to the top. The in-play section can get very busy when there are lots of matches taking place across the dozens of sports that they offer, so this is a handy feature indeed.

As a final “feature” on-site, at the top of a page is a small menu bar. In that bar includes things like your username, account info, messages, balance and open bets. The open bets section is a super-quick way to track what bets you've placed and what's live. You can also use the balance section to check on any promotions or free bets that you have at your disposal as well.

Current Promotions

Promotions at RedZone could be another “feature” and they change constantly. Here's a look at some of the longer-running ones you can take advantage of.

Win in 5 minutes – Place a pre-match bet on the 1x2 market (must be home or away win) and if your team scores within the first 5 minutes, the bet will be paid as a winner.

Best Odds Guaranteed – Back a horse at any of the selected meetings on the RedZone bookmaker and if the Starting Price is higher than your price and the horse wins, you will be paid the higher Starting Price.

Glory Goals – Place a £10 bet on one of the selected football matches on the bookmaker and after 30 minutes you will be given 10 free spins to use at their casino on the Starburst slot.

Customer Support

For such a small bookmaker, the support on-site is impressive. They state there is an average wait time of 3 minutes for their live chat, but we got in instantly each time we tested them out. Responses were prompt and accurate, and just generally seemed to know what was going on. Outside of Live Chat, email is also available, with an average response time of 48 hours at the time of review.

Responsible Gambling Features

RedZone is already registered with GamStop and even though this will eventually be compulsory, it's good to see that they have voluntarily taken the leap to implement before they are forced to.

It's clear that they have been keen to get processes in quickly for registrations and you can't deposit unless you have verified your account. They also give you options to limit accounts, have time outs and set alarms for time on site as well.

Our Verdict

We think it's fair to say that RedZone is on the smaller side compared to some. But they've carved a niche out for themselves in the form of US-based sports where they massively excel. They may be small, but there are few with the coverage of leagues like the NFL, NBA and NHL that get anywhere near RedZone and we are happy to recommend them as a result. Their awesome welcome offer just sweetens the deal!
