Antoine Griezmann Summer Transfer Odds and Betting Tips

Antoine Griezmann Summer Transfer Odds and Betting Tips

Quick Tips:

With only a few weeks left of the 2018/19 football season, clubs, agents and players are all gearing up for what’s sure to be another hectic transfer window.

Some deals have already been struck, for example Frenkie De Jong from Ajax to Barcelona, whilst others appear to be in the pipeline, such as Eden Hazard finally making his dream move to Real Madrid.

There will, of course, be a domino effect at some point, as one player decides to move on forcing the hand of a number of other clubs as they rush to replace their staff.

One such move is expected to involve Antoine Griezmann, who at the age of 28 is thought to be considering his club future.

The Frenchman, a year on from signing a bumper new contract at Atletico Madrid, is understood to be unhappy with the strength of his current squad, and would, allegedly, welcome a fresh start.

With Lucas Hernandez leaving, Diego Godin following suit, and a number of other players being courted by various clubs in Europe’s top leagues, Atleti will fight tooth and nail to hang onto their star man.

However, if his €100m release clause is met, there’s little they can do…

Barcelona – 2/1 with BetVictor

Although the odds for Griezmann to join the Catalans remain very short, it’s hard to see him making the move to the Camp Nou.

Whether Barcelona could forget after the shenanigans of ‘The Decision’ last summer is a moot point. The issue is financial.

The Blaugrana have already shelled out for Frenkie De Jong and are understood to want to purchase his Ajax colleague, Matthijs De Ligt, in the summer window too.

Without decent sales, there simply won’t be enough money in the pot to acquire the World Cup winner.

It’s alleged that the Barca dressing room have forgiven him for what was an ill-advised way of going about his business before the World Cup and would welcome him into the team should the club ultimately decide to pursue him.

There’s little doubt that he’d fit into the Catalans style of play too, and is of sufficient quality to improve the squad.

However, with Barcelona president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, insisting that the club won’t be making a move for Griezmann, there are a lot of hoops to jump through before this move is anywhere close to being finalised.

Manchester United – 6/1 with MoPlay

Regardless of how this campaign finishes for Man Utd, it’s clear that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a rebuilding job on his hands.

One of the first things he’ll want to do is convince Paul Pogba that he’s better off ignoring the overtures from Real Madrid and stick with the project at Old Trafford.

A great way to convince United’s top scorer to do so would be to acquire his countryman.

Ed Woodward knows that he has to back the Norwegian to the hilt in the transfer market, and if that means splashing €100m on a player, so be it.

It’s expected that there will be a few outgoings at United, so finances are unlikely to be a problem.

Whether on the right, left or centrally, Griezmann has the skillset to be able to fit into Solskjaer’s formations in a variety of positions, and from a personal standpoint, being one of the figureheads of this famous club as they look to recapture former glories will surely appeal.

The only possible stumbling block is if United don’t qualify for next season’s Champions League.

There are still generous 6/1 odds available with MoPlay for this particular move to happen.

Bayern Munich – 11/2 with 10Bet

The Bavarians risk upsetting the Rojiblancos further if they intend to prise the Frenchman away from the Wanda Metropolitano, after their recent raid for Lucas Hernandez.

That may well be Bayern’s trump card in convincing Griezmann to join, given he’ll already have a colleague he knows well, and that will help with the settling in period.

Let’s not forget either that Hernandez’s contract renewal at Atleti was pushed for by Griezmann, so it’s understandable why the latter was disappointed when it became clear the former was off to Germany.

Back in November last year, Griezmann even went as far as suggesting that it could be a future playing destination for him.

Coming in the wake of a Champions League defeat by Borussia Dortmund, far from ruling out the Bundesliga, he praised the quality of football in the division.

“The Bundesliga is very attractive, attacking football is played and there are many goals scored, as we unfortunately had to experience in Dortmund the other day,” he said.

With James Rodriguez stating that he wishes to leave the Bavarians at the end of the current campaign, a move for another left-footer makes sense.

At 11/2 with 10Bet, there’s value in this particular bet.
