888 Punter Turns 25p into £973,400 With a Progressive Jackpot Win

An online slots player at the high profile 888 Casino has scooped a massive £973,400 jackpot, which is around $1.54 million – making them a happy millionaire if they take it to the States! Though the user, ‘FA’ has kept their name anonymous, they have been identified as being from Merseyside, UK, and reportedly made an initial wager of only 25p to scoop this win.

FA achieved this enormous turnaround playing Ultimate Grill Thrills, a slot game with 20 pay-lines. The online slots progressive jackpot constantly accumulates as more players try their luck, and in this case it was released by hitting a winning combination of five Dog symbols on an enabled line. Whilst larger wagers give the player a greater chance of hitting the progressive jackpot, FA’s win showed that anyone stands a chance.

The odds of hitting a progressive jackpot in any casino game are very slim, but as FA’s win shows us the reward is enormous. And they’re prizes that keep on coming: the more players play, the higher those jackpots become. FA’s win comes shortly after another big slots win, as a Greek hairdresser (known as ‘Charalampos T.’) recently bagged €826,127 after a 20 cent wager on another site.

The £973,400 jackpot is a return 3.882 million times the initial wager of 25p, meaning that for every pence FA wagered, they got about 4 million pence back. Not a bad rate of return on any investment. And what’s FA going to do with it? Use it for retirement, they say.

The lucky winner commented they were ‘over moon’, but had thought a win might be possible due to a ‘feeling in their water’. If you're having a similar feeling, head over to 888 Casino and perhaps you'll be as fortunate as FA.
