Ladbrokes Now Offers Omni-Channel Wallet Option Across UK

UK bookmaking giant Ladbrokes is aiming to stay ahead of its rivals on the technology front by rolling out a new omni-channel wallet, with 7,000 self-service terminals set to sync with the innovative product in the near future. Ladbrokes views the wallet concept as a piece of kit that will provide its customers with a faster, slicker and safer way to bank with the firm!

New Ladbrokes Omi-Wallet Goes Live in 3,000 Shops

Ladbrokes' new omni-channel wallet option is now live across the company's network of 3,500-plus betting stores in the United Kingdom. The new betting technology works via the Ladbrokes The Grid loyalty card and mobile app, providing bettors with the power to load up their virtual Ladbrokes accounts and use in the 'real world'.

The company intends to have the omni-wallet synching with more than 7,000 self-service Ladbrokes terminals before the start of 2018, although the innovation can still be used at a traditional betting counter. As revealed by Ladbrokes Corals' Head of Omni-Channel Product, Darren Calvia, the desire to enhance gambler experience has been at the heart of developing the new wallet:

"Customer convenience is at the heart of everything we do,” he said. “We are proud that the Ladbrokes omni-wallet is now the industry-leading omni-channel solution."

Omni-Wallet Gives Gamblers More Offline Control and Options

The Ladbrokes omni-channel wallet provides the firm's customers with several distinct features, designed to enhance the betting experience. One key element is that Ladbrokes customers can now collect winnings instantly in cash, or opt for the money to be added to the omni-wallet, enabling funds for online gaming.

The wallet offers increased levels of security and safer gambling, with the option to use responsible gambling features, such as monitoring expenditure and setting deposit limits. It works across all Ladbrokes products, meaning gamblers can now use different services, such as sports betting and casino gaming, without any hassle. Calvia said:

"With the launch of the Ladbrokes omni-wallet, Ladbrokes joins Coral as the only betting shops on the high street where customers can seamlessly access an omni-wallet across all products."

With the 2018 World Cup in Russia expected to see a boom in betting both online and offline, Ladbrokes' new wallet positions it perfectly to offer a high-class product and maximise revenue. Activating a major new feature like this just before the year of a World Cup was clearly no accident.

Ladbrokes Develops Corals Concept with Launch of New Wallet

As one of the leading UK bookmaking companies, Ladbrokes is constantly looking to evolve to maintain its impressive market power. And it’s also in the enviable position of being part of the Ladbrokes Coral Group, enabling it to take concepts from Coral and implement them into its own business model.

The omni-channel wallet is the latest example of working to implement features that have proved successful for Coral, as Calvia explained:

"This launch is a great example of the benefits of being part of a multi-brand group – the Ladbrokes Coral Group – as we’ve been able to take the learnings from Coral’s long-established omni-wallet solution, the Connect Card, and add to it, to deliver the best solution in the market."

With an increasing number of gamblers demanding sophisticated, instant technology, the development of e-wallets and banking solutions for gamers can be expected to progress rapidly. More gambling companies are likely to develop similar products to neutralise the edge the wallet gives Ladbrokes, as we go through 2018.

However, for now Ladbrokes' new omni-channel wallet sets the standard for bettors who still use offline betting shops. The concept is already live in most Ladbrokes stores, with all 7,000 self-service terminals hoped to be accepting the product before the end of December 2017.
