One of online casino gaming’s premier slotmakers has announced an exclusive deal with Warner Bros to bring their latest big screen smash hits to the world of iGaming. Playtech will commence work on small screen adaptations of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad in the coming months, with a view to a late 2017 release.
The venture was announced at the ICE Totally Gaming conference back in February, with more concrete details revealed in the past week. All in all, Playtech has a slate of six Warner Bros branded releases for players to look forward to this year – the largest deal of its kind ever signed by the movie legends – in what is fast becoming key ground for casino games suppliers.
In addition to Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Playtech has also revealed that it will be working on adaptations of Justice League, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, so fans of the caped crusader played by Ben Affleck on the silver screen have plenty to look forward to from the brand in the months ahead.
The two Dark Knight titles will supersede those produced by Microgaming, who have lost the licensing deal they penned with Warner Bros a couple of years ago. As if the news of these releases could get any more exciting, Playtech has also announced that the new titles will join Green Lantern and other newcomers Superman, Superman II and Man of Steel to form part of the DC Super Heroes Progressive Jackpot network.
So now players can win a life-changing sum of money while stepping into the shoes of Batman, the Justice League members or any of the Suicide Squad misfits. If players are getting excited by this raft of new releases, then you can be sure that Playtech CEO Mor Weizer is as giddy as it gets at what could be a landscape-changing contract for his company:
"This is a hugely significant deal for Playtech and we’re delighted to have a wider-reaching exclusive DC film and TV-branded content licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products. We’ve had phenomenal feedback from our licensees based on the high-quality and calibre of the DC-branded games we rolled out in 2016."
The sky really is the limit now for Playtech, who will be acutely aware that branding and licensing deals like the one it has just signed are the key to both short-term gains and long-term loyalty from online casinos and gamers. It'll be fascinating to see what direction they take their latest collection of slot titles in.
This is a brand with a rich history of converting high-octane action from the big screen into thrilling slot-based action on the reels. Just a quick glance at some of its most important releases – X-Men, Wolverine and The Avengers – reveals that Playtech excels when handed some outstanding source material to work with. It even took the walking, talking punchbag that is Rocky Balboa and created a genre-defining slot title based on his in-ring exploits!
Using this back catalogue as a guide, expect the new Warner Bros range of games to be equally as exhilarating. Likely to feature the same five-reel, 20-payline format that has served Playtech so well over the years, players will also enjoy licensed audio and video content from the movies mentioned, plus a raft of fun animations that will act as the catalyst for special features and bonus rounds.
Of course, the extra sweet icing on the cake is that link to the DC Super Heroes Progressive Jackpot network, which regularly gives away six and even seven-figure sums to those players lucky enough to reveal the winning combinations. Playtech has been in online gaming for the best part of two decades and this deal with Warner Bros is just the latest in a long line of successes for the brand.
Valued in excess of £500 million on the London Stock Exchange, the Playtech team has been at the forefront of raising standards in player security and game fairness, as well as tirelessly campaigning for the legalisation of online gambling around the globe. The likely success of Suicide Squad and Batman Begins should take Playtech into an all-new stratosphere. Checkout Playtech casinos like Coral following the releases to try the new games!
