The name SportNation might be a new one to you, and that’s because it's been in existence only since 2017. Prior to that, the firm was known as Bet On Brazil to acknowledge its brand ambassador – football pundit and former Scottish international Alan Brazil – and launched as a sportsbook in readiness for the 2016 European Championships.
The rebrand to SportNation, which came in August 2017, saw an online casino channel added to complement the sportsbook. Has it been a worthwhile venture? Here's what we think...
The team behind SportNation has opened its doors far and wide to a number of different software houses. The industry’s big boys are well represented, with NetEnt, Microgaming and Play 'n Go all on board, while some independent, up-and-coming developers are also given a chance to shine – the likes of iSoftBet brings its distinctive titles to a new audience. As for the live casino platform, this is managed by one of the best in the business, Evolution Gaming.
At the time of writing, there wasn’t a dedicated SportNation app available to download. But if you prefer to enjoy casino games on your phone or tablet, the good news is that the SportNation casino mobile site has a responsive design – meaning that it looks great on your device, rather than being a mere scaled-down version of the main website – and it comes well-stocked with games, with more than 350 in total. The majority of those are slots, although traditional casino enthusiasts will also be pleased by the range of table games available.
The user experience at SportNation is an efficient one, and its design team has clearly placed a premium on ensuring players can find their favourite games in rapid fashion. There's the header bar at the top of the home page, which details slots, roulette, card games, new games and so on.
If you scroll down the page you can see that each category can be sub-divided into deeper diving sections for ease of search: most popular, newest and A-Z. There are other menus towards the summit of the homepage that help to make undertaking all of the admin functions of your account a doddle, too.
This is where the SportNation casino really earns its corn. There are just shy of 600 games available on the main desktop site, with the bulk of those being slots: more than 450 traditional slot titles are available, alongside a small but perfectly formed collection of progressive jackpot games.
It's split its casino action into card games and roulette, with the former category boasting some 60 variants of blackjack, casino hold ‘em, pontoon, punto banco and more. Roulette fans have 20 options at their disposal, including English, French, European and American variations of the game.
The live casino features blackjack, baccarat, roulette and poker, while the SportNation team has also created a category dedicated to ‘high stakes’ games, where those cash limits are pushed even higher than normal.
If there's one area in which you'd say that SportNation perhaps could improve, it would have to be with its casino-focused promotions and bonuses… or complete lack thereof.
Don’t get us wrong, there's a generous welcome package for those who want to have a flutter at the sportsbook, and a range of engaging offers for sports fans too. But for casino gamers there is, quite literally, nothing to get excited about at SportNation.
The saving grace is the firm’s fantastic rewards programme, which allows you to redeem loyalty points earned for every spin of the reels and every hit, stay and bust at the blackjack table. Unlike some other brands’ rewards schemes, here you can see exactly how many points you need to claim great prizes like football memorabilia, designer watches and sunglasses, electronics, gadgets and more.
There's a comprehensive FAQ page on the SportNation website, but if you still don’t find the answers you need then the good news is that the customer support team is easy to get in contact with. It's available via live chat from 12-10pm, seven days a week, with an average response time of three minutes. And you can always send the team an email for non-urgent enquiries.
But here’s the other rub about SportNation: at the time of writing, it accepts only Visa and MasterCard deposits and withdrawals. Clearly this is an area where it needs to improve and the sooner the better.

There's a lot to like about the SportNation’s casino, and you certainly won’t get bored here given the size and diversity of its games library. But until some rather glaring glitches are ironed out, you suspect they might struggle to compete with the industry’s top notch casinos.
|Huge catalogue of games||E-wallet payments not accepted|
|Responsive site design across desktop and mobile||Lack of casino-oriented promotions|
