PartyPoker Live Promises $35m in Guarantees Next Powerfest

PartyPoker is adding some more zing to its latest POWERFEST with an extra $15 million in guaranteed prize money. Following on from a successful outing in March where $20 million was on the table, PartyPoker has decided to up the ante and give away at least $35 million over the course of two weeks. Why such an increase in prize money?

Because success breeds success. When the book closed on the March 2017 POWERFEST, players from around the world joined the action and pushed the total prizepool to $27,012,812. With over $7 million more than expected, the tournament team at PartyPoker HQ decided the time was right to take things to the next level.

When the action kicks off on 3 September, those involved will not only have the chance to win a share of at least $35 million, but compete for glory across 330 events. That's right, with an extra 29 tournaments on the roster this time, players will have more chances than ever to take home a prize. What's more, the latest POWERFEST will offer 12 Championship Events with 10 of them offering a minimum of $1 million!

POWERFEST Offering Something for Everyone

As ever, PartyPoker will be hosting a series of satellite tournaments for each event, even though a number of tournaments will cost you just $5.50 to enter. Naturally, the Championship Events will be the main attraction and PartyPoker has already outlined when these glittering showdowns will take place:

Sun 10 Sep 2017:

  • $109/$1,050 POWERFEST 111 Championship Event [Phased] - $1M Gtd
  • $530/$5,200 POWERFEST 112 Championship Event [Phased] - $1.5M Gtd

Tue 12 Sep 2017:

  • $10,300 POWERFEST 147 Championship Event - $1M Gtd High Roller [2 Day Event]

Sun 17 Sep 2017:

  • $109/$1,050 POWERFEST 218 Championship Event [Final Phase] - $1M Gtd
  • $530/$5,200 POWERFEST 219 Championship Event [Final Phase] - $1.5M Gtd

Tue 19 Sep 2017:

  • $25,500 POWERFEST 254 Championship Event - $3M Gtd Super High Roller [2 Day Event]

Sun 24 Sep 2017:

  • $109/$1,050 POWERFEST 323 Championship Event [Final Phase] - $1M Gtd
  • $530/$5,200 POWERFEST 324 Championship Event [Final Phase] - $1.5M Gtd
  • $11 POWERFEST 325 Championship Event - $50K Gtd [$10K Gtd to 1st]
  • $55 POWERFEST 326 Championship Event - $150K Gtd [$20K Gtd to 1st]
  • $215 POWERFEST 327 Championship Event - $1M Gtd [$150K to 1st]
  • $1,050 POWERFEST 329 Championship Event - $1.5M Gtd High Roller

In among all the changes, PartyPoker hasn't abandoned its two-tier buy-in structure. For those wanting to get into the action early, accumulate some chips and pay just 10% of the full buy-in, Phase 1 flights will be in place. With multiple phased flights before each event, PartyPoker will be hoping casual players take advantage of the early bird offer and add even more value to the prizepool.

New Look PartyPoker to Help POWERFEST Sparkle

Something else players will notice when they join the action between 3 and 24 September is the new look interface. Although still in the early stages of a complete overhaul, PartyPoker released the first of its lobby and table upgrades at the start of August. Following a consultation with players, PartyPoker is implementing a number of changes to its software in a bid to make it more appealing to the average consumer.

With the first round of updates now complete, players can enjoy enhanced navigation as well as collapsible filters that help save space inside the lobby. Beyond this, a new, slightly darker colour scheme has been implemented across the site to help improve the playing experience for those that grind for long sessions.

Although the second update won't be ready until the next quarter, PartyPoker's development team is promising new look tables, extra search filters and a bevy of new online poker games. For now, however, players will have the ability to view a subtly different PartyPoker as they prepare for the next edition of POWERFEST.

As the festival draws closer, the organisers will start to release more of the schedule. At this stage, players are being advised to set aside time in their diaries to take part in one or more of the 330 tournaments on offer between 3 and 24 September.
