If there’s one iGaming brand that successfully continues to tap into the insatiable appetite for the game of online poker, it’s partypoker and its ‘LIVE’ offering; and yet again it is upping the ante with its slate of tournaments in the weeks and months ahead.
The Caribbean Poker Party Part II will touch down in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic between November 18-25, with a pair of eye-popping contests ready to be taken down: the $5m Guaranteed Main Event and a $1m Side Event!
The action will unfold at the five-star Melia Caribe Tropical hotel, and while the buy-ins might be a little steep – $5,300 for the Main Event and $1,100 for the Side Event – the partypoker team want this to be an inclusive event. That’s why they are offering satellite contests from as little as $0.01 to enter!
From now until the November start date, there will be a £1,050 buy-in event every Sunday at 9pm (BST) that acts as a qualifier for the Caribbean tournament, serving up five Main Event packages each week. These include a seat at the table, plus seven nights' accommodation and $2,000 to put towards the cost of flights.
The one-cent satellites take place throughout the week, so keep your eyes peeled. One player many will be keen to emulate is Jacob Mulhern, who qualified for the last Caribbean Adventure via an online satellite. He earned a whopping $100,000 for his efforts at the Main Event table for lasting longer than any other golden ticket entry.
And then there was the feat of Troy Quenneville, who trousered a total prize of $620,000 for finishing second in the Main Event before taking down the partypoker Million contest and landing the jackpot prize of $400,000. As you can imagine, entering the satellite contest could be the best penny you ever spend!
The partypoker tour bus is well and truly putting in the miles in 2017. Fresh from the inaugural Caribbean adventure at the tail end of 2016, the brand has already hosted mega-money events in Canada and Russia this year, with many more planned for the months ahead.
The $5m Guaranteed prize pool at the partypoker Million event in Canada garnered plenty of attention, and that followed the 1,170 players who duked it out for the big prize in the $1,100 buy-in Million event in Sochi, Russia earlier this year.
That was a mere drop in the ocean compared to the partypoker Live Millions Dusk till Dawn event, which served up a whopping £6m war chest in a syndicated contest hosted by casinos across the UK, Italy and Austria. With more than 8,000 entrants the six million figure was well and truly surpassed, with event winner Maria Lampropulos becoming an overnight millionaire after taking the title.
It’s no coincidence that partypoker has really upped its game since employing the services of John Duthie, founder of the European Poker Tour, as president of its LIVE branding:
"I believe there is a gap in the market for an operator whose primary focus is poker and who will listen to and work with the poker community. I still love the game just as much as the first time I saw my first flop and I believe this passion will help partypoker LIVE become the largest and most fun poker tour in the world." - John Duthie, President of partypoker LIVE.
partypoker is certainly heading in the right direction as far as that is concerned!
The greatest appeal of partypoker – alongside those life-changing prizes on offer during the LIVE events – is just how popular the brand is. There are often 10,000 or more players worldwide active on the site at any given time, which means that contests are well populated, pushing prize money up as a result. Also pleasing is the in-house software partypoker runs on.
Its creative team has come up with something that looks great, offers super-smooth gameplay, and is a joy to navigate around the lobby. There are tournaments to suit all budgets around the clock for early birds and night owls alike, with Texas Hold ’em, Omaha and 7-Card Stud all catered for. Head over to partypoker today to begin sharpening your skills for the tournament!
