Gamblecast: Betting on Alien Existence and Your Offspring

Gamblecast: Betting on Alien Existence and Your Offspring

For as long as bookmakers have had football, horse racing, tennis and golf markets on their books, they have also been offering specials and novelty markets.

If you're a member of the uninitiated - novelty betting is wagering on happenings outside of common sports. It most often involves betting on the whimsical, the nonsensical and the hilarious, but at times it can get serious too.

Novelty markets come in all shapes and sizes; the colour of the Queen's hat, whether the world will end, when we will reach Mars, betting on the weather and even betting on yourself. Many regular punters don't know that if you have something you want to bet on you can approach and make your case to a bookie and they might price it up for you.

This is what happened when two sitting Tory MPs backed themselves to become Prime Minister one day, something that Lee Gwilliam and Richard Delaney, contributors for Gambling.com, discuss in more detail in the below podcast; the 10 greatest novelty bets of all time.

Also included on the nonsense-filled agenda is how you can bet on alien existence, the Super Bowl "gatorade shower" market and, of course, a man who got breast implants to win some money off his friend - and then kept them for a few decades. You don't want to miss this one!
