While they may be a bit late to the party with its initial foray into online sports betting, Borgata offers a lucrative welcome bonus to assist in offsetting the time they’ve spent on the sidelines. Launched on May 14, 2019 as the 14th sportsbook in the state of New Jersey, while this may be the official Borgata online sportsbook, PlayMGM sportsbook has been operating under the Borgata license. Let’s take a deep dive into the product and see what it offers sports bettors.

Marketed as a risk-free bet, Borgata is the first online sportsbook we’ve seen offer a “true” risk-free bet. In this case, Borgata is offering a risk-free bet of $300. What that usually means with sportsbooks is that if you lose, yes, you will get refunded, but it will be in the form of some kind of credit you can only re-use on their site. Borgata is different.
With them, if you lose after signing up for an account, and depositing any amount up to $300 on their mobile app, they will refund you the full amount in cash that you are able to withdraw immediately. There are no gimmicks here. In addition, Borgata will also give you $25 to use in their online casino.
The registration process at Borgata is relatively similar to other online sportsbooks, meaning it’s fast and simple. Of course, they will ask for pertinent information related to personal details, but as a real-money sportsbook with the potential for you to win money, this is a requirement. Below is a list of the things you’ll need to disclose when signing up.
One of the pitfalls of the Borgata online sportsbook is the lack of PayPal being used for depositing or withdrawing. The sportsbook is just under a month old, so perhaps this is something they will offer later in the future. By adding PayPal, they will gain even more potential customers than before. Below are the ways you can deposit funds 24/7 and withdraw your winnings.

The polish and easy-to-navigate desktop version of Borgata makes betting and your experience on their site easy. Upon arriving at the homepage, the login/signup buttons are in the top right of the site, alongside the Responsible Gaming icon. Then, across the top of the main page where the different potential bets are below are direct links to the Borgata Casino and Poker Room.
Just below that you have the different sports you can wager on that lead you to every available game. But there aren’t just the actual sports here, there is a button for live betting as well as boosted odds bets. While simplistic in terms of graphics and color schemes, there is no lag between different parts of the site and we experienced zero extended buffering. It may not be the flashiest desktop interface, but it has everything you need condensed easily.
With the mobile version (which is available on both iOS and Android devices), we have almost a carbon copy of the desktop version. Everything looks the same from a graphic/color standpoint, thought the signup/login buttons are at the top of the screen.
Also, there is a drop-down menu in the upper left-hand corner that has information for how to contact Borgata, Responsible Gaming, terms and conditions, etc. Along the bottom of the app’s interface is a menu for the sports, the current bets you have placed and your betslip, which keeps track of the games you have clicked on with interest in betting.
With 11 sports to choose from, Borgata has bets for both the college and professional level for sports such as football and basketball.
Outside of the actual sports you can bet on Borgata generates new and interesting “boosted odds” bets on a daily basis. How this works is, Borgata comes up with certain scenarios that you have the option to bet on with their odds attached. For example, there might be a parlay of the New York Yankees, Minnesota Twins and Texas Rangers all winning. It was originally +375, but they have boosted it to +425 to entice more players to make this wager.
There doesn’t appear to be any promotions outside of their signup offer just yet.
On the mobile app, finding customer support and contact links is relatively easy. Conversely, the desktop version is a bit more difficult as it is at the bottom of the screen. Customer support is 24/7 and it appears there is no live chat functionality, which is something that is vital, in our opinion, to the online experience of sportsbooks.
Throughout the site, the customer will be able to readily find the 1-800-GAMBLER hotline. Right next to the login/signup buttons is the Responsible Gaming logo that is filled with information that the sportsbook will do in order to help their customers and hope to avoid circumstances of addiction with their clientele. All of this information is readily available for everyone to access.
While there is still plenty of work to do, Borgata does have something unique going for it when it comes to the Boosted Odds betting type. Beyond that, it does struggle to separate itself from the competition. They can always improve things such as the lack of PayPal, the seemingly no live chat options, as well as certain, important information being somewhat hidden from the customer. What makes Borgata appealing is the simplistic interface software, the Boosted Odds and lastly, the welcome bonus as this is something all sports bettors should give a try.
