Borgata already has an impressive reputation for its brick-and-mortar casinos. And just like its physical product, its online casino and live casino offerings are heavy hitters, too. Tethered to its namesake casino in Atlantic City, Borgata NJ is fully licensed and regulated by the state.
As one of the most trusted names in gambling, let’s take a closer look at what its online products bring to the table.
Pros | Cons |
Games from top providers | No PayPal payment or withdrawal option |
Secure deposit/withdrawal options | Table game inventory a bit lacking |
Promotions via iReward system |
Although there is no PayPal, Borgata still has myriad banking options for you to choose from. PayPal is something that they could always add later if they choose to, but in the interim, what they do offer is more than OK. The only plus side to PayPal is that it’s user-friendly to access and spend your balance.
Borgata offers two different promotions for new customers.
For new customers, upon signing up you will receive $20 in bonus money. In order to access the bonus money, players must complete a 1x playthrough, but can only be spent on slot games. This means, to get the $20, you must wager $20 on the site. This initial bonus might not be of interest to live casino fans, however it is a good way to explore different elements of the Borgata Casino product.
On top of that, Borgata also offers a deposit bonus of a 100 percent match up to $600. In order to access this bonus money, players must complete a 10x playthrough. Meaning, if you deposit $100, in order to have access to withdrawing the bonus money, you must wager $1000 on the site. The good news is that this bonus is not limited to slots and can be spent on live dealer games as well.
To access both of these, players must Opt-In on their bonuses page.
Upon arriving to the site, there is a “Join Now” button. From there, there is a four-step registration process that will ask for the details above. After that, you will receive the $20 free bonus.
After you’ve registered, you’ll be brought to the main screen where you’ll see a deposit button right next to your username across the top of the page on the desktop version of the site.
Note that options can vary by state, so be sure to check the casino’s website.
While Borgata doesn’t exactly say how long each method should take in order to get your money back, using the site personally, we got our money in a timely manner, using online banking—it took just a couple of days.
Equipped with an aesthetically pleasing color scheme on all of their platforms (desktop, Android and iOS), Borgata is immediately appealing to a new customer—the purple for their casino is a nice touch.
On their casino page, there are tabs to click on for their poker room and sportsbook. Below that, you can sort through the different games by clicking on the multiple types, including live casino, as well as a “More” drop-down menu that has information on promotions, banking options, loyalty stuff and much more. To the right of that is a search bar for games. Below all of these options, though, are the games in order of their type.
Going from desktop to mobile applications, users will find that they are nearly identical. Of course, mobile is squished a bit more to fit the mobile screen, but everything is laid out exactly the same, from how to icons are laid out to the different panes of information.
With a combined total of 404 different games to choose from, Borgata has something for everyone. Of course, the bulk of that 404 comes in the form of slots — a staggering 372 options. After that, there are 12 jackpot games, 12 video poker seven live dealer games, only four table games and a handful of blackjack options.
It is, overall, an impressive collection. Recently, the casino did away with No Commission Baccarat, eliminating one of their few table games, which is by far the most lacking out of the numerous options.
Of all their games, Borgata offers a solid variety of live casino/dealer games. With four titles to choose from, players can choose between both male and female hosted games such as Blackjack and Unlimited Blackjack, Roulette and Baccarat, all coming on an incredibly interactive and friendly high definition screen medium.
The tables are open every day from 10 a.m. until 4 a.m. and can be accessed on both desktop and mobile.
Browsing through the games on the Borgata Online Casino site, it appears that table game minimums can be around $10 with some games even being more than that. Spending money on these games will get your more toward your loyalty account, which can be used for benefits like free stays at the hotel and comp dollars. For depositing, there is no limit initially, but the casino does reserve the right to change that if needed.
While Borgata doesn’t directly outline what their betting limits are in live dealer games, it’s safe to assume they are a wide range across all of their games.
Borgata does not have an exclusive VIP Program, but they do have their iRewards Program. Players can earn points based on cash spent on the site, which can be redeemed for bonus money, free wheel spins and other tangible items such as electronics. The program is broken up into five tiers:
Borgata offers a complete breakdown of how much cash equals one point in more detail on their loyalty page.
The transparency here will go a long way and is something we admired immediately when we saw it. Sometimes these things are tucked away in terms and conditions, but Borgata is up front with what they are offering, which was a nice change of pace.
At the home screen on the Borgata Online Casino web page, you’ll easily find their “Help” button. From there, there are numerous options to choose from, including a “customer service” tab which lists their contact number and two different emails. But if for whatever reason you miss the “Help” button, at the button of the page there is that same information as well as a “Contact Now” button.
Responsible Gaming is something that online casinos and sportsbook are taking extremely seriously with the new laws in place. On their homepage, you will find the green “Responsible Gaming” logo which, upon clicking on, brings you to a page chock full of information on the subject.
With items such as definitions on problem gambling, warning signs, hotlines to contact, organizations and websites to visit and other in-house remedies such as deposit and session limits to assist in limiting yourself. This is an initiative we are proud to see in the online gambling community.
Borgata Online Casino simply has it all and could you expect anything less from this MGM-owned empire? Besides little things such as no PayPal and the lack of table games, Borgata’s crossover features that will also grant the user real life benefits is a great way to also bring the online player into the physical, brick-and-mortar location.
With welcome bonuses that are appealing, as well as their other alternatives (live dealer, sports and poker), Borgata, in general, is a one-stop gambling shop.
