In January 2020, the Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC), issued a license to PointsBet to legally operate in the state of Indiana.
In the Hoosier State, online sportsbooks must have a retail “land” partner. Fortunately, brick-and-mortar casinos can have up to three “skins,” meaning they can be connected to up to three individually branded websites/apps. PointsBet has a partnership with Penn National Gaming, which operates two casinos in Indiana: Ameristar East Chicago and Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg.
With that, let’s look at what PointsBet has to offer.
|PointsBetting feature||Pointsbetting losses take more than stake|
|Highly reputable company|
PointsBet IN offers a wonderful welcome offer. For new users, you will have four risk-free bets of up to $1,000 total. This is broken down into two different bet types: Standard fixed and PointsBetting.
First, if you deposit and wager $250 and bet on a fixed bet and lose, you will get $250 back in the form of a free bet. You will get two of these. The other two are the same, but geared toward the PointsBetting, which is a signature bet type that is exclusive to PointsBet. That may be confusing now, but we will dive deeper into that.
What’s nice about the registration process at PointsBet IN is that it is just two steps.
PointsBet IN is available on desktop, mobile web browsing and also for iOS and Android. Starting at the top of the page, there is a collapsible menu in the upper-left-hand corner of the page. Here, there are links to everything: Home, Promos, In Play, Quick Parlay, all of the sports, and plenty of other betting related content.
Also at the top of the page you will find the login/registration buttons as well as the betslip, which is clickable. Here, after clicking or selecting a bet, the betslip will appear with your bet and your wager.
Below this, you’ll find a carousel of ads for the welcome offer and other promotions. As you continue down on the default home page, you’ll find the featured bets as well as the in-play or “live” bets.
For the mobile app, it’s quite the same, with the only exception being the first few items in the drop-down menu on the desktop version being buttons at the bottom of the app, including a menu button which replicates what you see on desktop.
It’s vital that online sportsbooks try to keep the same feel from platform-to-platform and PointsBet IN has done exactly that.
Overall, in comparing PointsBet IN to other popular sportsbooks that can be found in Indiana, the odds were relatively the same, though it seemed like PointsBet IN gives better odds to underdogs and slightly worse odds for favorites compared to others. There were also very minor discrepancies when it came to spreads, but overall, everything balanced well and nothing was overtly outrageous.
There are plenty of betting features at PointsBet IN, which makes the online sportsbook fun to play. These include PointsBetting, Live Betting, Cash Out, Boosters and Quick Parlay.
These are a few examples of the promotions, and there are plenty more. Keep an eye on the promotions page to never miss out.
PointsBet has three forms of customer support:
The Responsible Gaming page can be found via a link at the bottom of the home page. Here, there are links and phone numbers for organizations that specialize in helping those with a gambling problem.
Players can also set limits on deposits, spending and session times as well as self-exclude themselves from the platform. This page also features signs to look for if you’re worried you may have a problem and ways to prevent children from accessing the platform.
PointsBet is, in every sense of the word, fantastic. There’s really not much to complain about here. PointsBet makes information on PointsBetting readily available. This is important to understand because it can be costly if it is a loss.
Other than that, this Indiana online sportsbook has everything you’d want and more, including innovation and numerous promotional offerings.
