Officially launching in August 2017, BetMGM’s online casino saw it’s first footprints back in 2016.
In that year, MGM Resorts International bought a stake in their partner Boyd Gaming, which led to them becoming involved with the Borgata.
From here, BetMGM, as mentioned, was born in August of 2017.
Licensed and regulated by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, BetMGM has ties to some of the most powerful entities in the Atlantic City community. With all of that said, how does their live gaming platforms stack up?
|Excellent welcome bonus||Numerous apps needed for all the BetMGM products|
|Revolving promotional offers||Not a large amount of live dealer games|
When it comes to the numerous apps, admittedly, we are nitpicking here. It’s really not that much of a burden to switch between the apps, but it could for some users, which is why we pointed it out. While there may not be a lot of live dealer games, the ones they do offer are everything you’d need—more on that later.
BetMGM offers two bonuses when signing up and registering.
The first, via signing up, you get $25 in bonus cash immediately to be used on the site, and will be able to access them after reaching 150 iRewards points. Next, for the deposit bonus, players will get a 100 percent match up to $1,000. However, there are strings attached, of course. In order to have access to the full amount, players must wager 30x on regular slots, 60x on progressives, 120x on video poker, and 150x on table games. Of course, you can mix and match these.
The registration process consists of four steps total steps in which you will need to provide information such as your name, email, password, zip code, last four of your social security number, date of birth, and other contact information.
This registration process is not that long at all and can be completed in under a few minutes.
While timeframes for the withdrawals are unknown, what we can tell you is that we got our cash back in a timely manner, even via a check. There is nothing to worry about when it comes to lengthy withdrawals.
Up to 7 Business Days
If you’re a user at all familiar with using Borgata, then BetMGM will feel awfully similar to you, with the reason being is that they are closely associated with one another.
Laid out in a simple way, BetMGM has all of their different game offerings toward the top of the screen, with them listened chronologically and with graphics below that. On that same bar, players can find a drop-down menu for the loyalty and banking options, too.
Players are able to click on these to take them directly to them or they can search for a specific title in the search bar.
Available on both Android and iOS, players will immediately notice that these are almost carbon copies of one another.
However, in order to access the app and look at it, you must have an account.
Support options can be found at the bottom of the page.
BetMGM offers four live dealer titles, including Live Blackjack and Blackjack Unlimited, Roulette and Baccarat.
The only software partner we were able to figure out was NetEnt. However, BetMGM does share a lease with Golden Nugget for a live dealer studio, which is powered by Ezugi.
Of the four titles, you can get both female and male hosts on a crisp, picture-perfect display.
All table games are available from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. seven days a week.
Betting limits vary from game to game. This includes not only the live dealer games, but their other titles as well. However, with the amount of titles they do have, it’s fair to assume that these will be different from blackjack to baccarat to roulette and so on.
While there is no VIP Program, there is a rewards program and you may use your reward points in blackjack or live poker tournaments when they arise.
Again, this is not a VIP Program, but rather a rewards-based program.
There are five tiers: Sapphire, Pearl, Gold, Platinum and NOIR. In order to gain access to NOIR, you must be invited by BetMGM.
These are the yearly tier point requirements:
Points are earned via wagering and can be spent as bonus cash and for other things such as hotel bookings, and other items, like iPads.
Customer support can be found at the bottom of the homepage. Here, you can access the FAQ, fill out an email phone, start a live chat or even call BetMGM directly.
While we wish the customer support was a bit more noticeable, it has to be noted the number of options here are make getting help accessible to anyone.
With the Responsible Gaming logo in the top right-hand corner of the screen, you will find yourself on the Responsible Gaming page, where there is tons of information listed.
BetMGM breaks it down into “symptoms” of what to look for in yourself or someone else, as well as different organizations and hotlines you can contact.
As far as in-house mechanics, players can set deposit and session limits on their account to hinder as much of the problematic gaming as possible.
While BetMGM may not have the same allure as a lot of the top brands, what they do have, they do it and execute well.
BetMGM has a lot of resources readily available and they’re not hidden and hard to find. Everything is laid out in the open for players to find.
We recommend giving BetMGM a chance, especially their live dealer games—though there are few, they are nothing less than stellar.
