Initially launching in December 2013, Golden Nugget has become a mainstay in the Atlantic City ecosystem. With a brick-and-mortar facility right there in the city, Golden Nugget has become a fan favorite, especially with their online platform. The Landry’s Inc. owned operation has slowly grown their live dealer games over time and are now up to 13, which is one of the most you’ll find out there, no doubt.
Licensed and regulated by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, Golden Nugget has a reputation to live up to. Do their live casino games add to that reputation or deter it? We did the research, now let’s dive in.
|Excellent welcome/sign up offer||Promotional offerings are not all great options for casual players|
|Name brand recognition|
Though some of the promotions are not really geared toward a casual player, this is OK. There should be levels to reach as a player and certain content that cannot be accessed by everyone. This could give a player something to strive for, or they could continue playing in a way that is comfortable for them.
Upon signing up for Golden Nugget, you will be given a free $20 from the jump. However, the big bonus comes in the form of depositing. On the surface, you will get a 100 percent match up to $1,000. Let’s address some of the caveats:
There is a minimum deposit of $30. You must sign up through the rewards page after clicking on this offer, as it won’t just happen automatically.
There is a wagering requirement in order to access these bonus funds: 10x playthrough + bonus. Meaning, if you deposit $500, you must wager a total of $5,500 before you have access to the bonus funds for withdrawal.
Certain games do not match dollar for dollar. For example, slots are 100 percent, but other games can be as low as 20 percent in adding to the wagering requirements.
So, if you wager $20 on a slot game, that will all count toward the bonus. However, if you wager $10 on a game like roulette, only 25 percent of it will count. In total, if you bet $20 on slots and $10 on roulette, you will only get $22.50 toward the requirement and not $30.
The registration process over at Golden Nugget is super fast to complete. After providing your email and a password, you’ll be asked for some personal information such as your name, date of birth, gender and last four of you social security number. From there, just provide contact information and you’re ready to roll.
This whole process took us under two minutes to complete. After the registration, there is an option to deposit right then and there as well, too.
As you can see, Golden Nugget has got it down when it comes to deposit and withdrawal options. The best part about it, too, is that even with all of these options, the timeframes in which we are told we’d receive our winnings were actually a bit of an overestimate. We got our money back swiftly.

Once again, Golden Nugget is unmatched in their ability to convey their games not only on desktop, but Android and iOS as well. Even with so much information and aesthetically pleasing scenery on the site, the site is so responsive and intuitive.
On desktop, Golden Nugget makes it easy to go between their casino and Sportsbook, as well as visit their help page, banking information page, live dealer games and their promotional offerings.
There are filters as well, in which you can sort games by studio, type and theme. Below these filters are all of the game offerings with the number of titles in parenthesis.
Mobile app versions are similar, though not everything can fit on the screen, so there are arrows used in a slideshow format to go between the different options for games and there is a button to click for the filters.
However, everything else is fairly similar, including the live chat option being right there on the main screen in the bottom right-hand corner.
Golden Nugget has a wide array of game studios that they work with to bring all of their games to life. It’s a long list that includes 19 studios including big name brands such as Konami, NetEnt, and IGT.
For their live casino games, they have 13 titles:
All of these games, with the exception of three blackjack tables are available 24/7 and on mobile. They are hosted by both male and female dealers. The video feed we got was pristine and the dealers were more than helpful in our quest to play a live action casino game on their website.
The betting limits on Golden Nugget are not readily identifiable to players, but considering the amount of the titles they have, it would be easy to assume that these vary far and wide from type of game to type of game.
This also includes their VIP program, which does offer exclusive contests depending on your tier. Again, these amounts are readily available, but one would assume they could be quite high stakes.
Golden Nugget, as mentioned, does have a VIP Program.
There are five different ways to earn points:
On the right-hand side of the desktop page, there is a button listed as “My Support”. Here, you are brought to a small screen that displays all of your support options. There are separate telephone numbers for the sportsbook and casino, the live chat option and an email that can be contacted.
Equipped with the green Responsible Gaming logo, players can click this logo and are brought to a one-stop source of information Golden Nugget provides on this. Not only do they outline various hotlines, websites and organizations, but they have their own systems you can utilize, too. These include limiting your deposits and your time on the website as well as limiting the losses you can incur.
With 13 live dealer options, coupled with their numerous banking options, Golden Nugget has everything a New Jersey player would need. They’ve done all they can to stop players from leaving their website.
We highly, highly recommend Golden Nugget as this truly is one of the standards for an online casino.
