Coming off its successful sports betting in Connecticut opening week and with the World Series starting up, FanDuel is here to offer its players an absurd amount of promotions ahead of Game 1.

The Braves are set to send Charlie Morton to the mound tonight against the Houston Astros and Framber Valdez.

The Braves were dealt a bad hand this season with Mike Soroka and Ronald Acuna both getting injured, and the Astros, well, the Astros have been in the news somewhat recently for other things.

Needless to say, this is going to be a showdown like no other, and FanDuel knows that.

So, in addition to the already exciting matchup, FanDuel has found more than one way to make the sports betting experience much more exciting.

Let’s first look at the odds boost FanDuel has tonight.

Odds Boost

  • Freddie Freeman or Jose Altuve to Hit a Home Run: +210 (was +150)

In his career, Houston’s Altuve is 6-of-20 against Morton, including two home runs. Playing at home gives Altuve a little bit more of a slight edge here. Also, against right-handed pitchers, Altuve hit 24 of his 31 home runs this season.

Atlanta’s Freeman has never faced Valdez and goes into tonight with a .257 average and seven home runs against left-handed pitching. Altuve seems like the better candidate here to hit the home run, but both players are stars. So, if anyone can hit a home run in this game which is expected to be low-scoring, it’s one of these guys

Odds for Series total games

  • Four games: +500
  • Five games: +290
  • Six games: +200
  • Seven games: +210

Although it has the worst odds, six games feel like the pick here. The Astros have the better offense, but the Braves have the better pitching staff overall.

There will be some games where the Astros bats are unstoppable, and there will be some games in which the Braves pitching staff can hold the Astros down long enough for the Braves to win some close matchups.

In the end, the Astros are my pick to win the World Series with the bats leading the way, but the red-hot Braves are not going to go down without a fight, taking it six games.

World Series outright betting odds

  • Houston Astros: -150
  • Atlanta Braves: +125

There is value here in Atlanta. Its bats are more than good enough to take advantage of this Astros pitching staff, but this Houston offense is ridiculous.

There are about seven different players capable of hitting .300 and offense will prevail in the end. Of course, the Braves at +125 are a value, but I’ll take the lesser value in this Astros at -150 because that is who I believe will win this series

But with that said, how is the public betting on this series?
