New Hampshire had another clean sweep of sports betting records as October official numbers were released on Wednesday before the Thanksgiving holiday.

The state recorded an all-time high handle of $98.19 million, up 44.1% from the previous record of $68.1 million in September and a 108.7% increase from $47.05 million in October 2020.

What’s impressive about New Hampshire’s figures is that the state only has one operator — DraftKings Sportsbook. The Boston-based gaming company agreed to give the state 51% of sports betting revenue if it was the sole operator. In addition to mobile sports betting, DraftKings has three retail sportsbooks in the following New Hampshire cities — Seabrook, Manchester and Dover.

New Hampshire also set a mobile sports betting handle record, posting $68.12 million, up 35% from September’s $50.46 and up 69.4% from October 2020 ($40.22 million).

Gross gaming revenue in the state was also record-breaking, rising 22.4% to $5.40 million from September’s $4.42 million and up 28.7% from this time last year ($4.20 million). The October revenue beat the previous record of $4.77 million set in November 2020.

The state’s revenue share came in at $2.56 million, up 35.7% from September’s $1.88 million) and an increase of 27.9% from October 2020 ($2 million). October’s number broke the former record of $2.32 million in November 2020.

2nd Straight Big Month in NH

This was the second consecutive month of record-breaking numbers in New Hampshire after a streak of five straight months where the state saw lower sports betting handle totals.

The continuing trends in NFL betting and college football betting has provided a boost to not only New Hampshire, but other states as well.

With other sports in-season — NBA, NHL, college basketball — look for these numbers to continue as we approach the end of the year.

National & State Records Are Falling

While New York waits to launch online sports betting, New Jersey continues to set the national handle record.

In October, New Jersey posted a total handle of $1.303 billion, up 28.9% over the previous record of $1.011 billion in September. New Jersey is the only state to exceed $1 billion in total handle in a month.

Other states set records. Pennsylvania has had the second-highest handle in October (with states like Nevada and Illinois still to report) at $776.3 million in wagers, up 34.1% from September’s $578.8 million.

Michigan nearly hit $500 million ($497.5 million) in October sports betting, an increase of more than $100 million from September.

Indiana ($461.1 million) and Tennessee ($375.3 million) also had record-setting months in October.
