What PointsBet Offers

Hailing from Australia, PointsBet offers bettors a unique sports betting experience thanks to its PointsBetting wagering option.

PointsBet announced this week that it has agreed to an exclusive partnership with Colonial Downs Group, LLC.

With this partnership and joint application, they have been awarded a temporary supplier license by the Virginia Lottery to offer online sports wagering.

Two Risk-Free Bets up to $2,000

"Being awarded the opportunity to offer PointsBet's market-leading speed and ease of use, unrivaled slate of betting options, and overall in-play excellence to the people of Virginia is a great achievement and responsibility," Johnny Aitken, PointsBet USA CEO, said in a media release. "Alongside Colonial Downs, PointsBet is proud to partner with the Lottery in Virginia for our first lottery-regulated market license award. We couldn't be more thrilled to further expand our exclusive relationship with NBC Sports – a staple to sports lovers in Virginia – and ultimately provide the great people in the state with the sportsbook they've been waiting for."

"Colonial Downs Group is proud to partner with PointsBet, a premier sports betting platform and one of the most successful operators in the nation," Colonial Downs Group Chief Operating Officer Aaron Gomes said in the release. "We are pleased to help bring this gaming option, with an excellent reputation and track record in customer service and unique points of difference such as their 'PointsBetting' platform, to our loyal customers and other gamers in Virginia."

In August 2020, PointsBet became the exclusive sports betting partner for NBC Sports network. This is important because PointsBet will leverage that partnership to greatly promote its presence in Virginia.

The PointsBet Brand Continues to Expand

As mentioned, PointsBet is the exclusive sports betting partner for NBC Sports. Included in that partnership is a year-round, multi-platform media and marketing pact, which includes gameday integrations across NBC Sports Washington, which is the regional broadcast home to the Washington Wizards and Capitals.

While this partnership is obviously massive for the Australian-based brand, it is also legal to operate in multiple other states, including sports betting in Colorado where it’s headquarters are stationed in the United States.

Some other states where PointsBet is legal are Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, New Jersey, and West Virginia.

PointsBet also reached an important deal in October 2020 with Genius Sports that gives PointsBet access to live streaming on games and also access to data that allowed bettors to make live wagers.

With the sports betting in Virginia also available, PointsBet will look to continue the expansion in the near future to showcase its unique online sports betting style.
