Unibet Partners With NBA As An Authorized Betting Operator

Unibet is the newest authorized sports betting operator of the National Basketball Association. On Monday, Kindred Group, formerly known as Unibet Group, announced in a press release that their top sportsbook is now an official sports betting operator of the NBA.

The Unibet and National Basketball Association agreement will provide the sportsbook access to official NBA betting statistics and league marks across its online and mobile platforms in the U.S. The official Kindred Group press release also stated that the NBA and Unibet will work closely together to protect the integrity of NBA games.

“We are very proud to team with the NBA. This will add further customer value to an already first-class betting experience thanks to official NBA betting data and league marks across our mobile and retail platforms. Kindred shares the NBA’s view on a legal and sustainable sports betting market, which makes this partnership a perfect match,” said Manuel Stan, SVP Kindred US, according to the press release.

Unibet Continues U.S. Growth

Kindred Group is one of the largest online gambling companies in the world, overseeing 11 brands across Europe and Australia, serving 26 million customers.

On Sept. 10, Unibet sportsbook debuted in the United States when they launched their online sports betting service and casino in New Jersey, partnering with Hard Rock Casino.

Unibet partnered with Mohegan Sun Pocono to run both a brick-and-mortar and online sportsbook in Pennsylvania. The Unibet and Mohegan Sun retail sportsbook launched at the end of September. Just over a month later, on Nov. 14, Unibet conducted a soft launch of their online casino and sportsbook in Pennsylvania.

Other NBA Partnerships With Sportsbooks

Ever since PASPA was overturned in 2018, uplifting the federal ban on sports betting, the NBA has embraced sports betting.

The league made their first agreement with a professional gambling company in July 2018, when they announced their partnership with MGM Resorts International, becoming the first professional sports league in the U.S. to have an official sports betting partner.

On Oct. 2, in an arrangement similar to the Unibet partnership, the NBA announced William Hill Sports Book, the largest U.S. sportsbook by number of retail locations, as a sports betting partner.

In addition to using official NBA betting data, William Hill is promoted across the NBA’s digital properties, including the official website, app and social media outlets.

The National Basketball Association has also embraced sports betting on an international level. On Oct. 22, the NBA named Tabcorp as an authorized betting partner in Australia. The NBA has several other sportsbook partnerships, including BetStars and FanDuel, with many more on the horizon.
