Wind Creek Bethlehem & Betfred Enter PA Sports Betting Market
Pennsylvania’s Wind Creek Bethlehem entered the state’s growing sports betting market on Wednesday with the opening of its first sportsbook operated by Betfred Sports.
The sportsbook is the first for Wind Creek Hospitality in the U.S., and it’s the third for Betfred Sports USA, according to a news release. Betfred has opened sportsbooks at Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort in Larchwood, Iowa, and Saratoga Casino in Black Hawk, Colorado.
The Betfred online/mobile platform will join top Pennsylvania sportsbooks at a later date.
It’s a good time to be entering the Pennsylvania market. On Tuesday, the state announced a record handle of $525 million for October.
The Wind Creek retail sportsbook is located in the space formerly occupied by Buddy V's Ristorante, the release said. It features two state-of-the-art video walls, 31 individual TVs, three betting windows and eight self-service betting kiosks, in addition to multiple viewing areas and a sports pub for food and beverage.
“We’re extremely excited about our partnership with Wind Creek Hospitality and couldn't be happier with the launch of our third US-based sportsbook in one year,” Bryan Bennett, chief operating officer of Betfred USA Sports, said in the release. “Pennsylvania is a massive sports betting market, and we look forward to making Wind Creek Bethlehem a go-to destination for sports bettors.”
