When Do the CFP Rankings Come Out?

The College Football Playoff Rankings are released each Tuesday after Week 9 at around 7 p.m. Eastern Time. ESPN broadcasts the selection show and breaks down the rankings.

When Do the Final Rankings Come Out?

The final rankings are released on the first Sunday of December, meaning the 2019 College Football National Championship rankings will be unveiled Sunday, December 2.

The selection show on ESPN covers the playoff semifinal matchups and takes a look at where other teams will play in the postseason particularly looking at New Years Six bowls.

When Does the College Football Playoff Start?

The two semifinal games will be played on December 29 in Arlington, Texas at AT&T stadium and Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.

The 2019 College Football Playoff National Championship will be played on January 7 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Who's Worth Betting on to Make the CFP Final?

As the conference title games are slated for this weekend, the list of postseason possibilities has shrunk. There are (realistically) six teams left that can make the College Football Playoff at this point.

Here's a quick breakdown of who's left and what they might need to get in or stay in:

  1. Alabama: The Crimson Tide are in no matter what happens this weekend. If they beat Georgia, they remain the consensus No. 1 team in the nation. If they lose, they might drop down to 2, 3 or 4, but Georgia's position in the Top 4 essentially guarantees Nick Saban will coach in his fifth-straight College Football Playoff.
  2. Clemson: Dabo Swinney has the Tigers ready to roar into the postseason yet again. It would take an unlikely loss to Pittsburgh in the ACC Championship Game and wins by Oklahoma, Ohio State and Georgia to even think about keeping Clemson out of the picture, and even then it would be far from a guarantee.
  3. Notre Dame: The Irish are undefeated and likely locked down their spot with a win over USC at the Coliseum Saturday. With no conference title game to play, it's very unlikely Notre Dame loses its chance at Playoff glory.
  4. Georgia: It couldn't get any simpler for Georgia. Win and you're in, lose and you're out. The Dawgs have a golden opportunity to avenge last season's heartbreaking overtime loss in the National Championship game. But, they have to slow down Tua Tagovailoa which is something they and many other teams haven't been able to do yet.
  5. Oklahoma: Sooners fans are about to become Alabama fans for all of one day. The most likely scenario for Oklahoma to reach the playoff for the first time would be a Red River revenge win over Texas and a Georgia loss. If the Bulldogs win, they'd need Pittsburgh to pull off the highly improbable for a chance.
  6. Ohio State: That 29-point loss to Purdue is looming large even after the Buckeyes once again took down Michigan. Urban Meyer will be hoping for another crack at a National Championship, and that's about all Ohio State can do: hope. Hope for Oklahoma and Georgia to both come out of the weekend with two losses, and that OSU can easily put away the upstart Northwestern Wildcats.
