NASCAR Digital Ally 400 Odds, Betting Tips & Drivers to Back

NASCAR races into the heartland with a Mother’s Day Saturday night date at Kansas Speedway. It’s a return to a 1.5-mile track, and the rest of May with Kansas and Charlotte will see the series compete on the same track distance layout.

Tracks like Kansas were part of the target for the much-discussed new rules package since 1.5-mile tracks comprise the bulk of the schedule. NASCAR has hoped to create better racing and closer competition but so far the results have been mixed.

What is clear remains the strength of some of the sport’s top organizations that continue to thrive. Joe Gibbs Racing added another win to the team tally last week with Martin Truex Jr. prevailing at Dover.

Other than Chase Elliott’s Talladega win for Hendrick Motorsports, no other stable outside of JGR or Team Penske has won a race in the first 11 of the season.

For those who enjoy NASCAR betting, here are six drivers to consider backing in Saturday night’s Digital Ally 400.

  1. Kyle Busch (+400)

Busch has been in the spotlight all week after his pointed comments last week in Dover about the new rules package. Let’s just put Busch down for a no. While he didn’t win the race, he did finish eighth and has been inside the top-10 in all 11 races of 2019.

He comes to Kansas on a streak of eight straight top-10 finishes at the track including a second place run last October. Bet him to win at +400 and +100 to finish 1st-3rd with SugarHouse in New Jersey.

  2. Martin Truex Jr. (+650)

Last week’s Dover race winner is beginning to heat up. Truex Jr. scored his second win of the year in the Monday rain-delayed event and rides into Kansas on a hot streak as well. He has won two of the last four races at Kansas and not finished worst than fifth since 2017. Bet Truex to win at +650 and +160 to finish 1st-3rd with 888Sport in New Jersey.

  3. Kevin Harvick (+750)

Harvick is the defending race winner and overall has visited Victory Lane in Kansas three times, twice in the last five events. Harvick has the best Kansas average finish over the last 10 races at 5.9 and is very eager to get win No. 1 of the season. Bet him to win at +750 and +185 to finish 1st-3rd with PointsBet in New Jersey.

  4. Brad Keselowski (+750)

He’s been a little spotty at Kansas in recent years but has a pair of top-10 finishes in his last four starts. Keselowski has won two times this season with one victory coming at Atlanta, which like Kansas is a 1.5-mile track. Bet him to win at +750 and +185 to finish 1st-3rd with 888Sport.

  5. Joey Logano (+750)

Like his Team Penske teammate Keselowski, Logano also has a 1.5-mile track win to his credit this year when he took the checkered flag at Las Vegas.

There are many similarities between the two tracks and generally speaking Logano is considered to be one of the best on intermediate size speedways in 2019. He’s been solid at Kansas with wins in 2014 and 2015. Bet him to win at +750 and +185 to finish 1st-3rd with SugarHouse.

  6. Chase Elliott (+900)

Things appear to be falling into place for Elliott in recent weeks. He followed up winning at Talladega with a fifth-place Dover effort that saw the Hendrick Motorsports driver lead a career-high 145 laps.

Elliott won at Kansas during last October’s Playoff race, which was his second top-five at the track in the last three starts. Bet Elliott to win at +900 and +225 to finish 1st-3rd with 888sport.

  7. 2019 Digital Ally 400 Betting Tip

Last week’s Dover finish saw drivers that started at the back of the field finish 1-2 (Truex Jr.-Alex Bowman) for the first time since 2014. Starting position Saturday night could also be less critical at Kansas although six winners in the previous 26 races held at the track came from the pole position.

Ford and Toyota teams have had a definite stranglehold on Kansas in recent years. Drivers from either of those two manufacturers own the top five best average finishing spots at Kansas over the last ten races. Despite Elliott winning last year in a Chevrolet, the Bowtie drivers have not fared well.

Experience is also an interesting factor to consider and three drivers in Saturday night’s race have started all 26 previous Kansas races – Harvick, Kurt Busch and Ryan Newman. Of those three only Busch has gone winless at the track.
