Pegasus World Cup Turf 2019 Betting Odds, Tips & Best Bets

I expect that in the first running of the Pegasus Turf that the favorite will be close to 7/2 or even 4/1 come post time. It seems also likely that Yoshida, the morning-line favorite, will be the post-time favorite at either of those numbers.
It’s hard not to respect Yoshida, who is a rare Grade 1 winner on dirt and turf, but his lack of consistently bringing a winning race each time pushes me to look elsewhere. Combine that with my view that he is better on softer ground, which he likely will not get on Saturday at Gulfstream Park, I am looking elsewhere in this highly competitive field.
2019 Pegasus World Cup Turf Betting Tips
Japanese Invader Has A Great Shot
Most will not recognize Aerolithe and understand her Japanese form. Simply put, it’s good and to be respected. She is a mare that has early speed which is so useful on the Gulfstream Park turf course and she’s draws beautifully in post position four.
Her race two starts back she held off an eventual Group 1 winner. Her connections had hoped to bring her over for the Breeders’ Cup but could not ship her to the states due to issues with cargo planes making the trip to the U.S.
The biggest plus that she has is that she will carry as much as 12 pounds less than her foes given that she is a filly and will race without lasix. Florent Geroux has committed to making the weight and is how he has secured the ride on Aerolithe.
Let’s just hope horse racing betting fans can get half of her morning-line odds of 8/1 come race time. Her ante-post betting odds have dropped to 9/2 at top horse racing bookmakers.

Aidan O’Brien Invades With a Filly
Magic Wand is a filly that you have to respect as well. She may not receive the buzz that Aerolithe does, but she will receive the same weight break and she has already proven that she can travel from Ireland to the U.S. and put forth a strong run as seen in her fourth in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf.
The biggest reason that you have to include her on your tickets is the ground. She was at her best when running on very firm ground at Royal Ascot back in June and her run in the Breeders’ Cup came over turf with a lot of give in it.
Chad Brown Best Shot at a Grade 1 This Weekend
Patience has paid off with Bricks and Mortar. He came back after a year plus absence from racing and immediately ran one of the best races of his career. He has already shown that his form from the age of 2 to now five has improved and he has a wonderful turn of foot.
This looks like it could be a break out for Bricks and Mortar to start his 2019 campaign.
Delta Prince is the Long-Shot Play
He will not receive much respect in this group, but Delta Prince could spring the upset. He has taken on tough runners throughout his career and always runs a big race at Gulfstream. Dettori’s presence is an obvious plus as well.
Pegasus World Cup Turf Best Bets
Place a win bet on Aerolithe with 888Sport in New Jersey. Even with the buzz that she is receiving here her price should still be good. I am taking a stand against Yoshida in the top three and will also attack this race with a four-horse trifecta box.
