Throughout the season, we will give you MLB betting advice each day, throwing in a few quick pitches for prop bets, Over-Under bets or moneyline bets on other games.

Philadelphia Phillies at New York Mets

The Mets and Phillies begin a three-game series at Citi Field at 7:10 p.m. ET.

The Phillies will send left-handed Bailey Falter to the mound to make his second start of the season.

His first start was on May 11 in a 4-2 win at Seattle and he completed 4 2/3 innings, allowed five hits, one earned run, no walks and four strikeouts on 65 pitches.

The Mets counter with Carlos Carrasco, who is 4-1 with a 3.50 ERA and 39 strikeouts.

Stat to Know

New York is 5-8, losing 6.1 units per unit wagered when facing a left-handed starter this season.

In the past two seasons, the Mets are 22-39, losing 26.54 units-per-unit wagered for a 32.7% return on investment (ROI) when facing a lefty.

I am going to the betting window and betting the Phillies on the moneyline, at +130 at BetMGM Sportsbook.

There is a front moving west toward the NYC Metropolitan area and forecasts are a 60% probability of a thunderstorm near game time.

If it is rained out, then I expect the same pitching matchups to be moved to the Saturday game and would remain a good betting opportunity.

Texas Rangers vs. Oakland Athletics

The A’s are the worst offensive team in the majors and Texas got a 4-1 win in the first game of this series on Thursday. Game 2 is today at 9:40 p.m. ET.

Oakland is batting .211 and scoring 3.362 runs per game.

The Rangers rank 27th with a .222 batting average, but have gotten far more clutch hits with runners in scoring position, ranking 20th by scoring 4.07 RPG.

Texas is a power-hitting team that ranks 11th by averaging 1.07 home runs per game and I expect them to hit at least two home runs tonight.

What the Betting Angle Says

This MLB betting system has earned a 28-12 record, good for 70% winning bets over the past five seasons.

The requirements are to bet on a road team starting a pitcher with an ERA between 4.70 and 5.70 and is facing a host that scored no more than two runs in its previous game and is averaging 4.25 or fewer RPG.

I will bet on the Rangers on the moneyline at -130 at BetMGM.
