Who the Bookies Like to Win Super Bowl XLIII

The NFL playoffs are finally here and sportsbooks are about to be filled with fans of NFL betting looking to pick the eventual champion of the 2018/19 season. There are bound to be upsets as the top seed almost never wins it all, but this year's No. 1 is led by one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time.

Drew Brees and the Saints lost their Week 1 matchup against the Buccaneers and then reeled off an incredible 10 wins in a row en route to finishing with the best record in the league at 13-3.

Noone knows how much longer Brees will lace up his cleats after this season, but noone is uncertain about the fact he will one day be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Winning another Super Bowl for the Big Easy would only continue to pad his unmatched legacy and he rightfully faces relatively short odds of +250 to do so.

Ride the Hot Hand into Wild Card Weekend

The Saints, along with three other top division winners, don't play this weekend, however, and the Wild Card matchups are as intriguing as ever.

There will be teams like Chicago and the LA Chargers looking to prove they belong after surprisingly dominant seasons, as well as some teams that turned it on at just the right time to eek past the crowded "in the hunt" field.

History shows that the hottest teams are often solid bets to pull off first-round upsets and even Super Bowl runs. Some of the teams with the longest odds could spring some of the biggest surprises of the first round.

The Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles are two teams to keep an eye on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

The Colts started at a dismal 1-5 and rebounded to win nine of their last 10 games. Indy was 4-1 against their division during that stretch and Saturday's rubber match against the Texans will pit Andrew Luck against one of his most familiar opponents on one of the hottest streaks of his career.

This could be the year Indianapolis finally finds out how far a healthy Luck can take them.

In the NFC, last season's Super Bowl champions once again lost their starting quarterback and once again Nick Foles led them to the playoffs. In the final game of the weekend they'll face an incredible Chicago Bears defense that turned a corner this season to become one of the NFL's best.

Bears fans have been waiting for a team this good since the Packers knocked them out in the NFC Championship Game back in 2010.

Khalil Mack has struck fear into the hearts of quarterbacks all season and will have Foles squarely in his sights all game long.

But, as Houston Rockets' coach Rudy Tomjanovich once said: "Don't ever underestimate the heart of a champion."

Wild Card Weekend Specials

SugarHouse has some interesting special markets for fans of NFL betting to try out this weekend. With odds for stat categories like "Most Passing Yards", "Most Receiving Yards" and "Most Rushing Yards" there are some nice individual-based options provided independent of the outcomes of the games themselves.

Additionally there's a "Team to Score the Most Points", and "Team to Score the Least Points" market as well as some more specific player based parlays. For example, the odds are +500 that Dallas' Ezekiel Elliot, Los Angeles' Melvin Gordon and Seattle's Chris Carson will all rush for at least 74.5 yards.
