NASCAR Auto Club 400 at Fontana 2019 Odds: 6 Bets to Back

The 2019 edition of NASCAR’s swing to the West Coast comes to a close in Sunday’s Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway in southern California at Fontana. The two-mile track is known for high speed, wide-open spaces and a rough racing surface with its asphalt more than two decades old.

The result, coupled with the next race for NASCAR’s new rules package, is expected to create a tight pack throughout the afternoon and favor drivers able to adapt to the necessary drafting style most predict will be generated.

For those who enjoy NASCAR betting, here are six drivers to consider backing in Sunday’s Sunday’s Auto Club 400.

  1. Kyle Busch (+450)

At this point there isn’t a track on the circuit where Busch will not be considered a favorite. He won his first Cup race last week at Las Vegas, but counting NASCAR’s Xfinity and Truck Series, Busch took four national series wins over the course of 10 days.

His body of work at Auto Club is impeccable, with two wins in his last seven starts there and only one finish outside the top-10 during that span. Bet Busch to win at +450 and _125 to finish 1st-3rd with SugarHouse in New Jersey.

  2. Kevin Harvick (+500)

There’s some frustration coming from Harvick’s camp because he hasn’t been able to win yet this season. But he’s rarely been away from the front of the field and that trend should continue at ACS.

Harvick has a pair of runner-up finishes at the track in his last four starts. Bet him to win at +500 and +140 to finish 1st-3rd with 888Sport in New Jersey.

  3. Brad Keselowski (+650)

He won at Atlanta, which is a little smaller but similar in nature to ACS because of its worn-out surface. First, ninth, second and fourth are Keselowski’s finishes over his last four Cup starts at Auto Club Speedway. Bet him to win at +650 and +185 to finish 1st-3rd with 888Sport.

  4. Joey Logano (+650)

Keselowski’s Team Penske teammate scored a victory at Las Vegas, another track similar in nature to ACS. Horsepower is a key to have a shot to finish well Sunday and Logano’s Ford will have plenty of it.

He also has four straight top-10 finishes to Auto Club. Bet Logano to win at +650 and +185 to finish 1st through 3rd with SugarHouse.

  5. Kyle Larson (+700)

Auto Club Speedway is tailor made for Larson’s driving style, which usually sees the Chevrolet driver up top near the wall looking for added grip.

He came from 31st to finish sixth last week in Phoenix, and the California native has finishes first and second the last two times at ACS. Bet Truex to win at +700 and +200 to finish 1st through 3rd with 888Sport.

  6. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (+4000)

Looking for a long shot? Stenhouse Jr. has the makings of a possible upset Sunday. He’s off to his best start in his Cup career and had a fifth place finish at ACS a couple years ago. Bet Stenhouse to win at +4000 and +1000 to finish 1st through 3rd with SugarHouse.

2019 Auto Club 400 Betting Tip

Given the full rules package will be in play this weekend, Friday’s qualifying session may not be the best indication of what drivers have in Sunday’s race.

Because of the importance of being in the draft, drivers will sit on pit road and wait until the last possible minute to get on track for their qualifying run.

Two weeks ago in Las Vegas when this version of the rules package was in place, qualifying turned chaotic and entertaining but was not a true reflection of what lay ahead in the race.

Since a similar scenario is likely this week, watch practice times for a better gauge of speed. Track history indicates a front row starting spot doesn’t necessarily equate to a win.

Only three times in the previous 29 Cup races held at ACS has the winner started from the pole. Seven times the race winner started 21st or worse.
