Top NFL Daily Fantasy Football Picks for Week 4: RB and WR

As week 4 in the NFL comes forward, those playing daily fantasy football should be starting to get a feel for who’s going to be effective week in and week out. Unfortunately for a lot of players, week 4’s Thursday night game is a high powered affair between the Vikings and Rams, as well as a Monday night matchup featuring the Chiefs. This Sunday might be a bit trickier to pick than usual with superstars like Todd Gurley and Patrick Mahomes unavailable. With that in mind…

Top Running Back Picks for Week 4

  1. Ezekiel Elliott

    $8,200 on FanDuel

Zeke should be able to feast on a frankly awful Lions defense. Yes, Detroit head coach Matt Patrica managed to shut down Tom Brady like nobody else in the league, but he was also a long-time coordinator for the Patriots; that game looks like an anomaly.

Co-league leader in rushing yards Matt Breida gained 138 yards and a touchdown vs the Lions. Zeke is an even more talented player, so you can expect great things from him this weekend.

  2. Carlos Hyde

    $6,800 on FanDuel

Forever underrated, Hyde is quietly the #8 rusher in the league and has 4 TDs under his belt. He’s been a fantasy workhorse for years, but you probably wouldn’t notice if you haven’t had him on your team. The Raiders haven’t allowed a huge amount on the ground, but they’re 0-3 for a reason.

Hyde hawked two touchdowns last week near the goal line and ended with just under 100 yards. With Baker Mayfield at the helm, teams will need to account for a passing attack to go along with Hyde. His threat should increase significantly, make sure you take advantage of it.

  3. Isaiah Crowell

    $6,400 on FanDuel

Your value pick of the week. Crowell is another under-the-radar player that’s quietly been putting together a very solid season. Crowell might only be averaging 57 yards per game, but he’s tied with Hyde and Gurley for the most rushing TDs in the league at 4. He’s not a huge threat in the passing game, but started to show some possible chops as a check-down guy vs the Browns.

Crowell faces a tough test vs the Jaguars this week, but the Jags have looked vulnerable this year, allowing 150 rushing yards to the Titans. Those looking for a RB under average, Crowell is worth a go.

Best Wide Receiver Picks for Week 4

  1. Odell Beckham Jr.

    $8,600 on FanDuel

Your expensive superstar of the week should have a day against the putrid New Orleans passing defense. This is a D that’s been shredded again and again and again, allowing over 350 yards through the air per game. With Saquan Barkley finally getting some momentum going on the ground (and Erick Flowers replaced on the offensive line), the passing attack is starting to open up.

Odell finally opened it up last week vs the Texans for 109 yards. He might not have a touchdown yet, but it’s only a matter of time and the Saints can’t help but give up big plays. You can feel confident splurging on Odell.

  2. Davante Adams

    $8,000 on FanDuel

The Green Bay receiver isn’t having an all-time season, but he’s still a consistent target for Aaron Rodgers. Three touchdowns on the year means he’s been good for at least one a game, and he gets to play Buffalo this week. Buffalo, as good as they played last week, is still a very bad team.

It’s extremely unlikely the Bills can repeat their performance vs Minnesota, so Adams or any Green Bay receiver should have an excellent day.

  3. Mike Evans

    $7,900 on FanDuel

Regardless of who’s throwing to him, Mike Evans will find the end zone. That’s just what he does. The biggest question going into this week is if the Bucs offensive line can hold off the terrifying Bears pass rush long enough to get the ball out.

The answer should be yes, as the offensive line managed to figure out the Steelers last week with enough time for Fitzmagic to nearly complete a 20 point comeback. Even if they can’t, Evans can make plays on a few prayers. Play Evans with little fear.

  4. Kenny Golladay

    $5,800 on FanDuel

That’s right. Not Golden Tate or Marvin Jones. Golladay has been one of the most effective receivers on the Lions team with significantly less targets. He’s also way undervalued on daily fantasy sites, checking in several hundred below your average per player.

The thing with Golladay is despite getting less targets per game, he’s equaling Tate’s stats, and has scored more touchdowns. The only thing dragging him down this week is the fact he’s playing against Dallas, who’s passing defense looks quite good. You shouldn’t worry too much, Dallas hasn’t faced a passing attack this strong yet. Take some serious value with Golladay.

  5. Tyler Boyd

    $5,800 on FanDuel

Copy and paste Kenny Golladay’s review and you basically have Tyler Boyd. One factor to consider with Boyd is the status of AJ Green. If Green is unable to play this week vs Atlanta, Boyd’s targets will definitely increase. However, it also means Atlanta can throw more resources at covering him.

Boyd has 249 yards on 15 receptions this year, and 2 touchdowns. This is definitely more of a risk, but Cincinnati’s attack does depend on the passing game. Take that for the massively loaded statement that it is, then consider that Boyd is well below player salary average.
