BetMGM, Madison Square Garden Announce Marketing Partnership

Madison Square Garden is one of the most prestigious arenas in the world, if not the most. With sports betting coming to the state soon, MSG has secured a partnership.

With nearly 10 sports betting licenses being issued in New York as of Nov 8, one of them was BetMGM, now the official sports betting partner of the New York Knicks, New York Rangers, and MSG.

Big Market, Big Money

According to Macquarie, the online sports betting market is expected to hit $1 billion in annual revenue.

The deal is a “multi-year marketing” partnership and BetMGM will receive “significant exposure throughout Knicks and Rangers games at The Garden” and will also be “featured throughout Knicks, Rangers, New Jersey Devils, and New York Islanders broadcasts on MSG Networks”.

“We’re excited to be partnering with BetMGM — a leader in the sports betting and gaming entertainment industry — to bring them an unparalleled platform in sports and entertainment,” Ron Skotarczak, Executive Vice President, Marketing Partnerships, MSG Entertainment, said in a media release. “MSG Sports and MSG Entertainment are made up of world-renowned brands that set industry standards for excellence, exposure and engagement — making us ideal partners to help drive sports betting’s continued growth.”

“We’re thrilled to see the BetMGM brand connected to a space as iconic as Madison Square Garden,” Matt Prevost, Chief Revenue Officer at BetMGM, said in a media release. “New York is a critical state for BetMGM’s continued growth and I can’t think of a better way to begin our relationship with The Empire State than partnering with The World’s Most Famous Arena and their legendary team franchises.”

How Partnership Works

Also with the marketing partnership, BetMGM will “receive substantial brand integration”. This includes things such as “courtside and ribbon LED signage, GardenVision features and basket stanchion signage at Knicks games, along with dasherboard signage and Zamboni branding at Rangers games”, content across Knicks and Rangers digital channels on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, and BetMGM customers will have the opportunity to participate in “premium experiences” at Knicks and Rangers games.

As sports betting continues to expand around the country, New York was and is often thought of as one of the most lucrative states for this market.

Now, BetMGM has made a massive move in becoming the official sports betting partner of not just The Garden itself, but the Knicks and Rangers.
