Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk Predictions:

Viewed by many as the biggest fight since the turn of the millennium, Tyson Fury will square off against Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday evening in the first undisputed heavyweight bout since 1999.

Both fighters head to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, still in possession of their unbeaten records. Boxing fans worldwide will finally get their wish of having one unified heavyweight champion for the first time in 25 years.

Fury is the narrow favourite on UK betting sites, but there isn’t much separating the pair, as a memorable bout is anticipated.

The fight was initially scheduled for February, but a cut to Fury’s eye led to a postponement, with the new date set for May 18.

Can Fury follow in Lennox Lewis’ footsteps and become the king of boxing, or will it be Ukraine’s Usyk who reigns supreme and unifies the heavyweight division?

Fury Will Fight Until The End

Had Tyson Fury put on a more dominant display in his recent bout with Francis Ngannou, his odds would likely be shorter than the 19/20 offered by boxing betting sites for this fight.

The 35-year-old demonstrated resilience by battling back off the canvas, reminiscent of his performance against Deontay Wilder, to secure his 34th professional victory.

But Usyk presents a more technical challenge. Known for his persistence rather than power punching, Usyk’s strikes shouldn't pose a greater threat than what Fury has already faced.

However, with 14 of his 21 victories coming by way of knockout, Usyk is still a capable opponent, and Fury cannot afford to relax for a moment if he wants to become the unified champion.

Statistically, Fury holds the advantage with a six-inch height and seven-inch reach advantage over his 37-year-old adversary.

We expect Fury to take an aggressive approach and outscore Usyk, but the Ukrainian’s success is built on his exceptional counter-striking abilities.

Usyk went the distance with fellow Brit Anthony Joshua twice, but Fury’s fast footwork makes us lean towards him to edge out this contest via the judges' scorecards after what promises to be a tumultuous battle.

Usyk’s Lightning Hands Will Cause Problems

As mentioned, Usyk's counter-punching is where he excels, often turning the tide in the latter stages of his fights.

All of Usyk's last 13 victories have come in the second half of his bouts and he is 5/4 with betting apps to win his 22nd consecutive fight.

If Fury tires out, we expect the Ukrainian to increase the pace and potentially catch the Brit by surprise.

With Fury's recent cut still not fully healed and his surprising knockdown against Ngannou, Usyk will believe he has what it takes to put his opponent on the canvas at least once.

One huge factor in the fight is the weight difference between the pair, and Usyk will need to evade Fury's tactics of using his size and weight advantage to dominate.

Unlike his previous opponents, Dubois and Joshua, Fury is a highly efficient and technical boxer who won't be a sitting duck for Usyk's shots.

This is where the 37-year-old could capitalise, catching Fury as he moves in and out of range and potentially striking when the Briton is off balance.

The 11/4 odds offered by Bet365 for Usyk to score at least one knockdown provide enough value to be enticing in what promises to be a memorable bout.
