Gambling.com Rating: 8.8/10
Our Verdict: BetVictor is a reliable bookmaker with some of the best odds around and a good welcome offer - but more existing customer promotions would be welcome.
BetVictor is a household name in betting and the odds here are rarely beaten, in my experience.
While the welcome offer is good value, I'd like if there were more promotions available after signing up.
Some of the best betting sites - like Betfred - have more offers for existing customers.
Having said that, there are still some really good promos worth trying out.
The highlight for me is the 'BetVictor Predictor' game - a free competition where I tried to predict six Premier League scores for a chance to win up to €50k.
I like betting with a trusted, established name, and BetVictor provides this level of trust. The company traces its roots back to 1946, when it was founded as a trackside bookmaker.
Overall, you can't go wrong with this site, especially if you like betting on popular sports like horse racing and football.
However, a few extra frills would take things to the next level.

I claimed the BetVictor welcome offer and thought it was great value.
It's worth up to €300 in free bets overall. I just needed to place three bets on the Premier League and each one had to be worth at least €10.
I could choose how much to bet (up to €100 per bet), so the offer suits different budgets.
But my favourite thing about the offer is that there are no tricky wagering requirements - winnings from the free bets were mine to keep.
Compared to other new customer offers in Ireland, this is one of the most rewarding.
Bookmaker | Qualifying Bet | Free Bet Bonus |
---|---|---|
3 Bets of €10+ | Value Matched up to €300 | |
Bet €5-50 | Refund if Bet Loses | |
Bet €5-10 | Get €15-30 | |
Bet €10 | Get €40 | |
Bet €10 | Get €40 | |
Bet €10 | Get €50 |
The main offers at BetVictor centre around football and horse racing. As mentioned, the highlight is the 'BetVictor Predictor' game.
I attempted to predict six Premier League scores for a chance to win the €50k prize.
I got two scores correct, which gave me a €1 free bet - a nice consolation prize.
I looked into the terms and conditions and found out that you get a €5 free bet for three correct scores, a €50 free bet for four correct predictions, and €250 in cash if you can get five right.
Promotion | Description |
---|---|
1. BetVictor Predictor | Free football score prediction game with €50k top prize. |
2. Guaranteed Prize Wheel | Spin a wheel once per day for cash and free bet prizes. |
3. Run For Your Money | Cash refund if your horse loses all chance at the start of a race. |
4. Lucky Dip | Get a randomly selected bet at much higher odds than normal. |
5. Enhanced Prices | Multiple odds boosts available across a range of sports each day. |
I can confidently say that BetVictor is one of the best horse racing betting sites, having placed bets on numerous races here.
All races from the UK and Ireland can be streamed live when you bet - while markets are also available from other countries including the USA and France.
I ran an odds comparison for betting on a race at York and found that BetVictor provided the best price for four of the 10 runners, beating or matching the odds from 25 leading bookmakers.
Boosted odds are available on racing singles and multiples every day. I checked the number of boosts on a Thursday morning and found 10 to choose from.
Best odds guaranteed kicks in at 9am each day and there are cash refunds for bets if your horse loses all chance at the start of a race.
"BetVictor's horse racing odds are right up there, with enhanced prices providing even more value."
I've yet to come across a football betting site with more enhanced prices than BetVictor.
When I visited the football betting section and navigated to the 'Boosts' tab, I found hundreds of boosted prices, on a day when no major matches were even being played.
Boosts even applied to obscure leagues like the Polish third division - so I found this attention to detail really impressive.
I compared Champions League final odds across 25 bookmakers and found that BetVictor had the best odds for both teams, although Ladbrokes had better odds for the draw market.
Bet builders are easy to build and 'Bet Builder Boosts' are visible as soon as you land on the football betting page, enhancing the odds on same-game accas.
The big negative, however, is the lack of football live streams. BetVictor used to show football live on the site and app - but no longer does.
On the plus side, the 'BetVictor Predictor', as I've already highlighted, is one of the best free-to-play games from any bookie I've used.
“BetVictor nails nearly every aspect of football betting, but the absence of live streaming is a drawback.”
While BetVictor does offer betting on most inter-county GAA games, it's not the strongest choice for GAA fans, as the coverage can be quite inconsistent.
When I checked the hurling and Gaelic football sections during the early rounds of the Championship, I noticed several major hurling fixtures had no odds listed - even just days before throw-in.
Outright markets were also missing, which was disappointing given that rivals like bet365, William Hill, and Ladbrokes all had them available.
For the games that were covered, the options were quite limited - typically just match result, draw no bet, and two handicap lines.
As someone who likes betting on winning margins, I found the lack of variety frustrating, especially when sites like BoyleSports offer a greater range of options for GAA betting.
BetVictor's golf betting service has some pros and cons - with the value of odds here being the big positive.
The site has betting options for all the big tournaments, including outright markets well in advance of the majors, like outright winner, top finishes, and first-round leader.
When I compared odds for a PGA Tour event across 20 major bookmakers, BetVictor had the best price for 12 different players in the field, which was really impressive.
However, it’s a bit disappointing that there aren’t many golf-specific promotions or offers.
If you’re looking for consistent value on golf, I recommend BetVictor - just don’t expect many extras.
"BetVictor's each-way terms aren't the best for the majors, so I do most of my golf betting elsewhere."
BetVictor isn't a bad option for rugby betting, mainly because the odds (similar to other sports at BetVictor) are often among the best out there for club and international games.
I like that the the 'Lucky Dip' promo is available for big rugby matches. It gives you a random selection at high odds, usually on markets like first try-scorer.
While it's not the most strategic bet, if you get lucky with your random selection, it can provide good value.
One big negative is that there’s no bet builder for rugby, although unfortunately this is the norm with most bookmakers.
Sites like bet365 buck the trend with a same-game acca for rugby matches.
"BetVictor trails slightly behind Betfred when it comes to rugby betting, but it's still a good site for punting on the oval ball."
I’ve always found BetVictor to be one of the best bookies for getting value from your bets, especially for football and horse racing.
For example, when I compared Premier League prices, they matched or beat the best odds from competitors on over 60% of match result markets.
For horse racing, I checked the ante-post odds for next year's Gold Cup and Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham, and found that BetVictor offered the best odds on the favourites for both races.
But I have seen the racing odds beaten here plenty of times as well, so I always recommend shopping around for the best value on the horses.
One downside to flag is that BetVictor doesn’t really do much novelty betting - you won’t find as many markets for TV shows or awards as you would at Betfred, for example.
But if you’re mostly focused on sports and want strong odds across the board, BetVictor is one of the best options out there.
I’ve used BetVictor’s bet builder quite a bit and overall, I think it’s one of the better ones out there, at least when it comes to football, tennis and major US sports.
You can combine as many legs as you like (which is rare) at maximum odds of 1000/1, so there's lots of flexibility.
I like that there’s a dedicated bet builder section on the site showing all the matches you can use it on - this can be a real time-saver if same-game accas are your preference.
Boosted bet builders are also highlighted on the homepage, which is a nice touch.
It's not just top leagues covered either - I’ve seen same-game multis available for lower-league matches like EFL League Two.
The slight downside is that the bet builder is only available on six sports: football, tennis, American football, basketball, baseball, and ice hockey.
I’ve seen people mention rugby being included, but I’ve never found that option myself.
That's still a decent range of sports (better than most), but it doesn’t come close to bet365, which offers bet builders on 14 sports. Or even newer sites like Bzeebet, which has a bet builder for 10 sports.
Bookmaker | Maximum Selections | Sports Available |
---|---|---|
Unlimited (Max Odds 1000/1) | 6 Sports in Total | |
Up to 30 | 10 Sports in Total | |
Up to 10 | 5 Sports in Total | |
Up to 12 | 14 Sports in Total | |
Up to 5 | Football Only | |
Up to 8 | 3 Sports in Total | |
Up to 10 | Football Only |
The live betting service at BetVictor is solid, if a little unspectacular.
Two things that consistently impress me are:
Cash out is available across an impressive range of markets and I find that the offers are generally on the more fair side, even if I'm not somebody who uses the cash out feature too often.
One area where the site falls down is live streaming. There used to be live streams of football, but BetVictor no longer shows football games live on the site or app.
Most major greyhound and horse races are available to watch live. The other sports I watched live here were table tennis and Esports.
To be fair, when there isn't a stream available, the live match centre for football is impressive.
A live graphic of the pitch provides real-time updates, while you can also view live statistics, head-to-head records and a timeline which logs all major events.
I really like the way the BetVictor site is laid out.
A lot of this comes down to personal preference, but I enjoy the bright colour scheme and the simplicity of the design.
The sidebar menu provides you with an A-Z list of all sports, access to offers and games, and links to the bingo and casino sections, in case you want to switch over to a different style of betting.
There's also a bet calculator, a comprehensive safer gambling section, and a link to the BetVictor blog, where expert pundits like Harry Redknapp provide tips.
Both the desktop and mobile versions of BetVictor load quickly and it's really easy to find everything you need.
I had no issues signing up - it was a quick and smooth process that took me about 15 minutes, with my ID verified and my account ready to go within an hour.

I’ve used the BetVictor app on both iPhone and Android and have found this is the handiest way to place bets.
The app loads quickly and is really easy to use - I can find odds and place bets in seconds without any lag or confusion.
What stands out most is how clean and uncluttered the layout is, which makes placing bets feel effortless. Everything responds quickly, from scrolling through markets to confirming a bet.
Push notifications alerted me to updates like bet results, price boosts, promotions, and key moments in live events.
Ratings from other users back up my experience, with the app receiving an average score of 4.7 out of 5 on the App Store.
I didn't notice any major differences between the Android and the iPhone app, but an average user rating of 3/5 on the Google Play Store suggests that Android users are less satisfied.
I must say that this didn't tally with my experience when using both versions of the app.
I’ve used BetVictor’s customer service a few times and found it reliable and quick.
The live chat starts with a bot to help direct your query, but getting through to a real person is easy - just type 'speak to an agent' and you're usually connected within minutes.
The agents I spoke to were friendly and sorted issues like a missing free bet quickly and without fuss.
There’s also email support, though live chat is much faster.
The only downside is the lack of phone support, but overall, BetVictor’s customer service has been efficient, helpful, and easy to deal with.
Channel | Availability | My Experience |
---|---|---|
Live Chat | 24/7 | Fast, helpful, easy to access. |
Within a few hours | Slower but still responsive. | |
Help Centre | 24/7 (self-service FAQ) | Useful for basic questions. |
Phone | Not available | No option for phone support. |
BetVictor offers a range of responsible gambling tools to help users stay in control of their betting.
I found it easy to set limits and access support directly through my account settings.
Tools like deposit limits and time-outs are simple to activate, and there’s clear signposting to resources like GamStop and GamCare.
While the tools are fairly standard across the industry, BetVictor makes them accessible and easy to manage, which is what really counts.
One tool I liked was product restriction - you can restrict access to the casino or sports sections of the site, if you choose.
BetVictor is a betting site that you can't go too far wrong with.
The value of odds continues to impress me more than anything else here.
The size of the welcome offer is an added bonus, along with how easy the site is to navigate, and the number of odds boosts you can claim.
This bookie isn't without its flaws though.
There are better options out there for GAA betting, while the removal of football live streams is disappointing.
I also couldn't deposit or withdraw funds with PayPal, which seems like an easy fix that should be implemented.
All in all, though, BetVictor does the crucial things very well, which is why it earns an 8.8/10 user rating from me.
BetVictor is privately owned by BV Gaming Limited, a company run by businessman and racehorse owner Michael Tabor. It has a long-standing presence in the betting industry and is licensed by regulators like the UK Gambling Commission.
Yes, BetVictor is a legitimate and trusted bookmaker. It has been operating since 1946 and is fully licensed in the UK and Gibraltar. The platform uses encryption to protect user data and complies with strict regulatory standards
BetVictor has free bets available as part of the welcome offer and as a reward for guessing scores correctly in the 'BetVictor Predictor' football prediction game. Irish customers can claim up to €300 in free bets when they sign up.
For the majority of banking methods, BetVictor withdrawals take between 1-3 working days to arrive in your account. It's usually closer to the one-day mark than three days. E-wallets and debit cards are processed quicker than old-fashioned bank transfers, which can take 3-10 working days to complete.
You can contact BetVictor’s customer support via live chat, available 24/7 through the app or website. There’s also an email option, and the Help Centre includes FAQs for quick answers. There's no phone contact number available on the BetVictor site currently.
