There are few bigger or better-known bookmakers in the gambling industry than BetVictor right now. The company have been about since 1946 and was started by William Chandler. It's gone on to change names several times, although has always stayed connected to the Chandler family.
Its online journey started back in 1999 and they have been able to produce a range of brilliant products ever since. Even though they are now based in Gibraltar, the company are able to offer their gambling services to punters all over the world. As a result, they now turn over in excess of €1 billion every year and cater to players in over 160 countries.
As you would expect from such an iconic brand, BetVictor has been at the forefront of sponsorship for both sports teams and sporting events. Over the years they have sponsored the likes of Chelsea FC as well as bringing on board gambling ambassadors such as Michael Owen, Harry Redknapp and Teddy Sheringham. The most notable of the sporting events have to be that of the Victor Chandler Chase, a Group 1 race run at Ascot racecourse each year.
|Stunning online and mobile betting platform||Lacking in features compared with the best|
|One of the best-priced bookies in the industry||Suggested withdrawal timeframe quite long|
|Great customer service|
BetVictor have lots of promotions on offer throughout the year. Here are some of the current offers:
There's a crazy range of sports on offer at BetVictor. Football is dominating on the site and few can match their market and even game coverage. Outside of this, horse racing is another sport that is brilliantly covered, along with the likes of tennis, cricket, golf, rugby and a range of US-based sports as well.
It's not just the range of sports though. The amount of markets available on events will rival anything you'll find at another bookmaker. That number just increases when you factor in the #PriceItUp tool. We'll have more on that a little later.
Sign up on the BetVictor sportsbook is going to take just a few minutes. Here's a step by step look at the process:
Click the “Join Now” button at the top of the page. Please note that you can sign up via their betting app if you would rather.
You will then be asked to enter an email address and a mobile phone number.
Next, you need to enter your personal details. These include your name and DOB.
Enter your home address.
The final part is to select your currency and then opt into their terms and conditions.
After you've been through this BetVictor will then ask you to choose which welcome offer you want to receive. We recommend the sports betting welcome offer (above), but there are plenty to choose from, which often include offers related to upcoming football matches, usually, at enhanced odds.
You're going to need to make sure that your account it validated before you can use it. This is a simple process of sending in confirmation of your address (utility bill) and then your age (driver's license or passport). Alternatively, if you do this via live chat then they will give you a €5 bonus on top of the welcome offer!
After we have waxed lyrical about the design, it's time to get into the meat of BetVictor.
The first place that we have to start is the in-play betting section. This is an area of the bookmaker that has benefited from the recent facelift and now feels much more connected to the rest of the site.
Football shows off the full skill set here, and you get to choose from pretty much all games that are offered within the football betting section. We loved the all-new match centre at the top of the page and the graphics that come with it are second to none. A slight gripe here is that we would like it to be a little more accurate at times, as it does seem to go dead for a while, but this rarely happens if we are being honest.
The horse racing section allows you to access the bookmakers live streaming section. Races from the UK and Ireland, with some international races as well, can be streamed from within the race card of each race. All you need to access this is to have placed a bet of €1 or more on said race and you get to start watching about 5 minutes before the start of that race.
Another relatively new area is the BetVictor Blog. Here they can utilise their sports ambassadors who create quite a lot of content for it. An example of this is Michael Owen who uploads articles a couple of times a week as part of his role. You get around 10 articles per day, which is crazy good considering it's free and of course, each article is related to betting, so it's not just a “sports” blog.
The #PrictItUp bet builder is one of our favourites at BetVictor and this allows you to create your own bets. You might be thinking you can do this anyway, but not for markets that are related to each other. All you need to do is pick the game that you want to build a bet for and then simply choose the bets that you want to include. For example, this could be Harry Kane to score first, both teams to score and over 4.5 corners in each half. BetVictor will then give you an instant price for that bet. What's great about it is that you can build your own bet on a variety of sports. Choose your own NFL player line, add lengths to a horse's winning distance or bet on an NBA player's rebounds. The possibilities are endless.
If you aren't sure which bets you want to include, you can simply take a look at what others have built. You can also share your bets with your mates so they can get involved as well.
The first thing to note when banking at BetVictor is that the deposit methods that you can access will depend on the country and the currency that you have chosen. While it is region specific, debit card, Neteller, PayPal, Skrill and Paysafecard are available to most users.
Withdrawals are available on all of these methods where applicable. There are no fees at any point for banking with BetVictor and payments are generally processed pretty quickly. Debit cards are within 3 to 6 working days and e-wallets within 1 to 3 working days. However, we have found that often they are much quicker than their reported timeframes.
BetVictor have gone through several rebrands and site refreshes over the last 20 years or so. They are constantly changing their platform to make it better for their users. The latest update came about in 2019 and we have to admit, it's their best yet.
The site's design is unique to BetVictor, which is very rare these days. They have tried to go for a more minimalistic look and offer something that few bookmakers can.
The menu system down the left-hand side is brilliant. It works like a menu system on your computer in that the page doesn't move, and you can navigate within this until you find roughly where you want to go. It means you can either select a sport to get an overview of the whole sport or just use the ladder system to get a more specific look at the marketplace.
The app has also had a facelift as well and again, it looks stunning. You have the menu section at the bottom allowing you to easily access your open bets, bet slip, cash out and then the casino.
Everything moves and loads instantly. There is no waiting around, no loading times and no fuss. It's hands down one the best-looking bookmakers and betting apps on the market right now!
BetVictor have been able to win awards for their pricing structure in the past. Their current structure is one that is just as good, if not better than pretty much all of the competition. It's the consistency that we found to be most remarkable and they were able to offer incredible prices on so many different sports and markets.
Customer support is one of the best in the business for us. The thing to note is that there are plenty of methods to contact them. Live Chat is available on site and email and phone are available too. BetVictor have a great presence on Facebook and Twitter, meaning social media is there as an option.
Responsible gambling is something that BetVictor takes very seriously. They were one of the first to sign up to the Gamstop campaign which requires players to verify who they are before they can deposit and bet on site.
They include a wide range of features with it as well, including betting limits, limited time on site, self-exclusion and a gambling overview to see how much players are spending. They also work with several organisations that help those that need it, including Gamcare, Gamblers Anonymous, Gambling Therapy Apps and Money Advice Service.
You can't spend over 70 years within the same industry and not be respected as one of the best. BetVictor have not only managed to stay relevant in a sector that is constantly changing, but they are setting the standards, at least in terms of design and functionality.
If we had to add in a negative mark, it would be for the lack of features. But the amazing odds, a huge range of sports and betting markets, coupled with a truly stunning betting app and generous welcome offer in the form of a free bet sign up no deposit, makes them one of the best.
"I've worked in the betting industry on product, operations and customer service for several years. A class operator will deliver on many aspects and we cover them all."
