STS adds horse racing to its UK offering
STS — one of the largest bookmakers in Central Europe and the market leader in Poland, has now added horse racing to its product offering in the UK. A partnership has been signed with Pythia Sports, who will provide odds and risk management to STS for this vertical. By adding horse racing, STS not only confirms its serious intent in the UK market but also joins a group of top UK Sportsbook brands in offering a horse racing product.
STS will be offering betting across all UK and Irish racecourses. What is more, live streaming will be available for all UK and Irish racecourses, including the biggest events of The Cheltenham Festival, Aintree Grand National and Royal Ascot. Customers will also be able to watch the races unfold and follow their bets all on the STS site from their devices.
We are going to work with Pythia over the coming months to enhance the product further by adding additional features plus adding to the available content, including international racing from other territories - says Filip Sosnowski, Managing Director of STSBet. We will offer regular horse racing promotions, special bets and different offers for our customers.
The STS Group is the largest licensed bookmaker in Poland based on turnover and also operates on an international scale through licenses in the United Kingdom and Estonia, from where it offers its services in several additional markets. The Group’s portfolio of services includes sports betting, virtual sports, an online casino (outside of Poland), BetGames and a wide range of betting services relating to esports.
The full offer of STS UK can be found at www.stsbet.co.uk
STS, the leading sports betting brand in Poland, is reputable and well-established in the world of online betting sites – with a presence all over Europe and several other global jurisdictions. Established in 1997, STS owns over 400 betting shops in Poland and employs over 1,500 people.
This company decided to branch out online in February 2019 and has not had cause to regret that decision. It was granted a licence by the UK Gambling Commission in May 2019, allowing it to offer online betting opportunities here for the first time.
|Plenty of markets||Welcome bonus is complicated|
|Well-designed site||No mobile app|
If you are new to STS in the UK, then we have good news! There is a £50 Sports Welcome Offer waiting for you at the site. You claim this bonus by betting on any sportsbooks event that’s available, from Champions League Free Bets football to any golf major or even an e-sports event betting offer.
To claim your bonus, you need to deposit a minimum of £20 into your account with the promo code ‘SBK50’ and then wager at least £100 on any available betting market with minimum odds of 4/5 (1.80). If you are asking the question ‘how can you deposit £20 and then wager £100?’, then good, because we did too! Indeed, we asked STS support to clarify this.
As soon as you have wagered £100 a £5 bonus will be released to you. So, if you deposit £20 and wager £20, then you have wagered £20 towards that £100 target. If you win £100 from your £20 bet, then you can bet another £80 to complete your wagering requirements. Of course, if you wager £20 and lose, then you will not be able to complete your wagering requirements for any bonuses.
You can claim this bonus up to a maximum of ten times, so if you deposit £1,000 and wager £1,000, you can claim the full bonus value of £50. This is a generous offer but does seem needlessly complicated!
STS will offer you other promotions from time to time, and they are not as complicated as the welcome bonus, thankfully. Here are a couple of bonuses we found while we were looking around this betting site:
Of course, some of these offers are seasonal and do not apply all year round, so make sure you always check the STS promos page to see the latest deals available.
Currently there are not many free bet offers at STS, other than what we have highlighted above. Check the site regularly though as they do like to mix up their promos, so a free bet promotion could one day be offered.
As you would expect, the list of markets available at STS is substantial. The main focus is on football of course, with markets available for all of Europe’s major domestic leagues, as well as competitions like the Champions League and the Europa League. The football coverage stretches globally too – as online bettors have come to expect from the best football betting sites.
With STS being a Polish betting site, the other major sports covered are perhaps not what you’d expect from a UK-facing online sportsbook. Basketball, tennis, ice hockey, volleyball, futsal and handball all receive excellent coverage. Further down the list, you’ll find both rugby codes, snooker, darts and cricket.
There’s extensive coverage of e-sports too including CSGO, DOTA 2 and League of Legends. Betting on novelty or specials markets such as politics, TV and film is not available, though.
The main page of the STS online sportsbook is split three ways – live (which we will cover later), popular and upcoming.
The ‘popular’ page has the leading events of the day, with major football matches topping the list. If you want to switch to a different sport, use the sliding list of icons across the top of the screen.
The main odds for home/draw/away are available on each event’s listing. Just click on the odds to transfer the bet to your slip and then set your stake. If you want to bet on something besides the result, click the number towards the left of the main odds. This will take you to the events-specific page. You will find that for major football games there are commonly over 1,000 different markets, which is pretty incredible.
If you want to see everything that’s available, click on the ‘Sports A-Z’ option towards the right of the screen. This will create an easy-to-use drop-down list of ALL current events at STS that you are able to bet on. The ‘upcoming’ section works in exactly the same way as the ‘popular’ section except that the markets are listed in time and date order (closest to the current time at the top of the list), regardless of the sport.
In our experience, we found the main betting options at STS very easy to use. This betting site is quick and responsive although once or twice the page did hang while it was updating. We also found the experience better with Chrome than with the other browsers that we tried.
Back now to the first section of the main page at STS. There can be anything from 50 to 200 live events available to bet on at all times, with the current status of any live game displayed with up-to-the-second accuracy on the live betting page.
You can click on any event to see a more accurate state-of-play. Football matches can be followed via a graphics that display which side is currently on the attack, and how dangerous that attack is. Tennis and volleyball matches have graphical interface too, but most sports do not.
Cash-out is available on most live events that you have placed a bet on, so if you think one of your current bets is about to become a losing one, you can cash out and at least get something back. Overall, the in-play betting experience here is a very strong one.
There are no live streaming options at STS.
The registration process at STS is straightforward and painless. Click the orange ‘JOIN’ button towards the top of the screen to start things off. The first step is to choose whether you want the sports welcome bonus. You can opt-out if you wish or choose the casino bonus instead. Fill in your email address and choose a password then click ‘NEXT’.
Step two will require you to add all your personal information – name and address, phone number and date of birth. Don’t worry about online safety as everything you send is encrypted. Once you have completed this step you will be sent an SMS to the phone number you registered with. Fill in the four-digit code contained within the message to complete your registration.
STS may be able to verify you via the details you have provided, but if not, you may be requested to send scans of your passport (for example) and a utility bill. This is a legal requirement for all UK-facing sports books and is nothing to worry about – indeed it should reassure you that you are dealing with an organisation that takes your gambling safety seriously.
STS offers a very good number of options when it comes to making deposits and withdrawals. The minimum deposit is £10 for all methods and the minimum withdrawal amount is also £10. E-wallet withdrawals will be processed within minutes, while Visa debit and debit Mastercard withdrawals can take up to three days. PayPal, Trustly, MuchBetter and ecoPayz can all be used for deposits and withdrawals here.
It is worth noting that there are no fees attached to any deposits or withdrawals at STS, which is how it should be. We have made both deposits and withdrawals at STS and have found their predicted processing times to be completely accurate.
We have found no issues with the STS desktop site except – which we mentioned earlier – the site did hang a couple of times and we found the experience better on Chrome than other browsers. The site is easy to navigate around with intuitive menus, and there’s even a search function should you want to find a particular betting market. The STS desktop site works perfectly on Windows, Mac and Linux-based desktops and laptops.
STS does not offer bespoke mobile apps. You are perfectly able, though, to use the STS site on any phone or tablet you may have powered by iOS or Android. This is a browser-based mobile site, so just navigate your way to the site via your chosen browser, log in and get betting.
The mobile STS site is simply a mobile-optimised version of the main STS desktop site, so the full functionality of the desktop site is available on mobile. The optimisation is excellent, and the site is just as easy to use on a phone as it is on a computer. You do not get as much information presented of course, but that is to be expected because of the smaller screen.
We found the mobile experience with the STS sportsbook extremely pleasurable.
We found the odds at STS to be competitive when compared with the best betting apps but the site does not offer ‘best odds guaranteed’ like some bigger sports betting sites. We could find no enhanced or boosted odds offers at the site, although that does not mean that such deals are never available here.
We used customer support via live chat at STS before we had even signed up to query the welcome offer. The response was instant, as were the follow-up responses. It is also clear that STS offers dedicated support that has not been handed off to a third-party provider.
Live chat support is always your best option, but you can also email STS at email@example.com or look through the site’s list of FAQs.
The STS online sportsbook does not offer a VIP or loyalty programme.
STS subscribes to GAMSTOP, which means if you have been excluded via GAMSTOP you will not be able to register here. As you know from our explanation of the registration process, STS does run age and verification checks. Also, when you sign up you will have to set deposit limits. You can also ask for a time-out at STS and exclude yourself permanently. The site offers a link to gambleaware.co.uk too which is another sign it takes the safety of its users very seriously.
People in Poland have been happy with STS for years and the likelihood is that you in the UK will be too. This is a very easy-to-use, quick and responsive sportsbook that is perfect for the casual-to-intermediate sports bettor, and particularly those who like football betting.
There are niggles though such as no live streaming and an unnecessarily complex welcome bonus. But we still feel that STS has enough for it to become one of your online sports betting sites of choice.
Yes, and it’s £10 no matter the payment method.
It’s good but we have seen better which is why we recommend it for the ‘casual-to-intermediate’ sports betting fan.
No, it doesn’t, but you can still use the site on any phone or tablet via a mobile browser.
We can say yes to that as the site has the proper UK Gambling Commission licensing.
E-wallet withdrawals are instant, but cards can take as long as three days.
STS is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission and the Malta Gaming Authority.
