Cheltenham Day 3 Each-Way Tips:

We’ve reached the halfway stage of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival and online bookmakers have their odds ready for the off.

Whether you’re up or down for the meeting, there is still plenty of horse racing left this week and we can hopefully land some more winners on Day Three when the action switches to the new course.

1.30pm Turners Novices' Chase – Appreciate It

The money has come for Appreciate It ahead of the Turners Novices’ Chase, with the Willie Mullins-trained horse still a backable each-way price with horse racing betting sites

We feel as though the nine-year-old is capable of a big run over two miles and four furlongs, with the former Supreme Novices’ Hurdle winner likely to enjoy the testing conditions.

Although El Fabiolo beat him by 10 lengths at the Dublin Racing Festival, the fact that his horse dotted up in the Arkle Chase on Tuesday indicates that this form isn’t too bad - with Appreciate It only beaten narrowly by Banbridge who runs at a similar price.

2.10pm Pertemps Handicap Hurdle – The Changing Man

Keep an eye out for extra places for the Pertemps Handicap Hurdle and you might need them considering as many as 24 horses might go to post.

We’re going to shoot for a really big price here, and The Changing Man looks overpriced based on his achievements so far this season.

Joe Tizzard’s charge has put together some eye-catching runs and the six-year-old was runner-up to Johnson’s Blue in the Pertemps qualifier at Haydock a month ago, with the horse going off a decent mark.

2.50pm Ryanair Chase – Janidil

We’ve been sweet on Janidil from an each-way perspective for what feels like months and there’s little reason to desert the Willie Mullins-trained charge, with the nine-year-old looking like a viable alternative to strong favourite Shishkin.

Janidil

While the market leader is clearly the most likely winner of the Ryanair Chase, we believe Mark Walsh should give Janidil a tremendous spin over two miles, four-and-a-half furlongs.

The runner landed a nice victory ahead of three opponents at Gowran Park last time out when winning the Red Mills Chase ahead of Haut En Couleurs.

3.30pm Stayers' Hurdle – Teahupoo

The softening ground means that Teahupoo comes into sharper focus and the six-year-old should relish the testing conditions, even if there’s a question mark over whether the horse can go as well left-handed.

It’s possible that the Gordon Elliott-trained runner could go off favourite but still looks a backable each-way price.

Blazing Khal seems opposable now that the rain has come and we’re not taken by reigning champion Flooring Porter who appears to be off colour this season.

Unfortunately, this Stayers' Hurdle might also be a bridge too far for the legendary Paisley Park.

4.10pm Magners Plate Handicap Chase – Frero Banbou

Venetia Williams often gets things right when it comes to the handicap races at Cheltenham and Frero Banbou might enjoy the soft ground at Prestbury Park.

However, there is a slight question mark over the trip of two miles four-and-a-half furlongs in the Plate Handicap Chase.

The eight-year-old finished third in the Grand Annual at the 2022 Cheltenham Festival and more recently came second to Thyme White in the Byrne Group Handicap Chase at Ascot.

The runner is carrying 10-6, which looks more than favourable and the same applies to his odds on new betting sites.

4.50pm Mares Novices’ Hurdle – Magical Zoe

The Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle is the penultimate race on Day Three of the Cheltenham Festival, with lots of lively contenders and it’s hard to crab favourite Luccia who has been winning all over the place.

However, Magical Zoe is a talented five-year-old who runs for trainer Henry de Bromhead and she has scored twice this season already.

It could be an emotional win in a race which is dedicated to Jack de Bromhead and a November win at Down Royal suggests you will get a big run for your money.

5.30pm Kim Muir Challenge Cup Amateur Jockeys' Handicap Chase – Angels Dawn

Sam Curling could have the winner of the Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup, with Angels Dawn available at a bigger price on betting apps after unseating his rider last time out.

The horse was making inroads in a Grand National Trial before this mishap, but the runner has enough class to go close here.

Previously to this, there was so much to like in a handicap chase at Down Royal where Angels Dawn obliged at odds of 5/2, with the horse having previously run strongly at Punchestown.
