Irish Horse Racing Tips: 3 Picks For Saturday At The Curragh

The Irish Oaks takes centre stage at the Curragh this weekend, with the Irish classic going to post at 15:40 on Saturday.

With three Group Two races also on the card, it promises to be an exciting day of racing at the home of Irish flat racing.

Below, we have picked out three bets that may be worth having with betting sites throughout the day, including a big-priced outsider in the feature race.

Saturday's Irish Racing Tips

Tip 1: 14:00 Curragh - Go Athletico - 0.5pts Each-Way

Go Athletico has form figures that wouldn't fill you with confidence.

The seven-year-old is on a long losing run, but his handicap mark is falling as a result.

He is now down to a career low 86, which could be low enough for him to get back into contention.

His last two runs were a step in the right direction, and with most betting apps paying out to five places, he is worth an each-way bet.

Tip 2: 15:05 Curragh - Arizona Blaze - 1pt Win At 7/2 With William Hill

The Sapphire Stakes sees some classy speedsters go head to head.

There is very little to separate those at the head of the market with horse racing betting sites, but Arizona Blaze could prove best.

Adrian Murray's colt had some good two-year-old form, including a course and distance win here on debut.

He has trained on nicely, and was beaten just a neck in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot last time.

Mgheera and Rumstar are probably the biggest dangers, but he is worth a chance in a tight race.

Tip 3: 15:40 Curragh - Subsonic - 0.5pts Each-Way At 25/1 With Bet365

The feature race of the day, the Irish Oaks, is centred around Minnie Hauk, who won the Epsom equivalent last time out.

She is a top-level performer and seems to be improving with every start.

Aidan O'Brien's filly is the likely winner, but at the prices, it may be worth taking her on.

Wemightakedlongway is the obvious danger, but Subsonic is interesting at a big price.

Unfortunately, there are just seven runners, so there are just two places from an each-way angle.

Subsonic was runner-up to Minnie Hauk as a two-year-old and can be forgiven for her first run back this season.

With her stable in fine form, she might be worth a small each-way bet.
