Irish Punter Lands Four Almighty Accas in Remarkable €602k Win

An Irish punter has stunned bookmakers by scooping over €602,000 thanks to arguably one of the most daring accumulator bets ever placed.
The unnamed bettor from Galway, who placed the mega-wager in a Ladbrokes shop, was made to sweat for their life-changing €602k winnings, but a 92nd minute strike by Seville’s Alejandro Gomez on Sunday night sealed the monster pay-out.
The selections were placed across several European and South American leagues and were a mixture of outright wins, both teams to score selections and under 3.5 goals in the game.
The wager was spread across four separate accumulator bets of 22 or 23 legs, costing the incredibly lucky punter just €50.

It could have been even better, though. One of the accumulators was cashed out in-running for €102k which, if it had been allowed to ride to the end of the games, would have earned them another €65k.
Still, it’s unlikely they’ll be troubled by that given the fact they’re an unbelievable €602,054 richer today.
Jessica O'Reilly of Ladbrokes said: “Talk about luck of the Irish. Needing over 20 teams' results to go your way is no mean feat and we can only doff our cap to our plucky punter who is over half a million quid richer thanks to a dramatic winner in the 92nd minute by Papu Gomez.”
Notable Big Acca Wins
This latest huge acca win is one of just a handful of such punts to have exceeded the half-a-million mark. The biggest accumulator pay-out of recent times was £650,000 (€752,713) after a punter staked £100 (€115) on a 6,542/1 odds eight-fold.
This was an accumulator with a difference, though.
The eight selections were all placed whilst the action was underway and, unbelievably, all eight selections were currently losing at the time the bet was struck.
This meant the punter was able to get some very attractive prices about his selections and an injury time Coventry City winner meant the savvy football bettor had landed the shrewdest of accas.
Another lucky punter reportedly collected a cool £500,000 (€579,010) from just a 30p (35c) stake when his acca defied odds of 1.6 million to one. Not a bad day’s work by anyone’s standards.
Meanwhile, two other Ladbrokes punters landed £48,000 (€55,607) each after correctly predicting all 10 Premier League results on the final day of the season.
Sunday saw plenty of drama in the race to finish in the top four, and two bettors correctly predicted that Chelsea would make hard work of it by losing to Aston Villa, needing a Spurs victory against Leicester to help them out.
With no games ending in a draw on the final day, it meant both punters picked all 10 winning teams correctly, landing them £48k (€55k) apiece from just a £10 (€12) punt.
