Brian McClair's Premier League Picks
- Brian McClair's Panel Pick 1: Liverpool 4-0 West Ham - 11/1 With Betovo
- Brian McClair's Panel Pick 2: Newcastle 1-2 Man Utd - 11/1 With Betovo
Throughout the season, Manchester United and Celtic legend Brian McClair will be giving his predictions for every Premier League match.
In four seasons at Celtic, McClair made 471 appearances in all competitions and scored 127 goals, securing the Scottish Premier League and Scottish FA Cup while finishing as top-scorer for the Hoops on four occasions.
His prolific goalscoring record quickly attracted the attention of clubs south of the border and in 1987, McClair became Alex Ferguson's first signing at Manchester United, going on to win four Premier League titles, two FA Cups and the European Cup Winners' Cup in his 11 years at Old Trafford.
Brian joins The Panel for the 2024/25 Premier League season to pass expert judgement and give his score predictions for all of the games whilst The Panel examine the football betting sites to find the best odds.
Watch him discuss the games below and keep an eye on how Brian and The Panel get on each week throughout the season.
Liverpool Vs West Ham, Sunday, 2pm
With seven games remaining, the Reds need just 11 more points to be crowned Champions of England.
While the defeat at Fulham was disappointing, the Reds have established a strong enough lead to withstand a few setbacks in the run-in, should they happen.
West Ham are the next team looking to delay the title celebrations when they head to Anfield on Sunday – a ground they have a terrible record at.
The last time the Hammers won there was in 2015, and that was their first win at Anfield since 1963.
Brian says: “West Ham have struggled down the years on their visits to Anfield with their last win coming back in 2015.
"With the title in sight and just 11 points needed, Liverpool will be keen to bounce back after that shock defeat at Fulham.
"I don't see that loss shaking their momentum and I don't see West Ham recording just their second victory here since 1963, the year I was born!"
Brian McClair's Panel Pick 1: Liverpool 4-0 West Ham - 11/1 With Betovo
Newcastle Vs Man Utd, Sunday, 4.30pm
Newcastle United will look to extend their winning Premier League run to four games when they take on Manchester United on Sunday.
The Magpies proved their worth in a 3-0 win over Leicester City in midweek and now return to St. James’ Park as they continue their push for Champions League football.
Ruben Amorim’s men, on the other hand, played out a goalless draw with Man City in the Manchester derby in their last Premier League game.
With the team languishing in mid table, United will no doubt have their sights firmly on their Europa League second-leg clash with Lyon next week.
Brian says: “There is an argument to suggest that United were the better team against City last week but it really was dull.
"United have been goalless in 11 of their 31 Premier League goals this season with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee combing for just four goals in 48 appearance between them.
"Newcastle are now level with Chelsea in fourth, but the Magpies have a terrible record against Manchester United and that's the logic I'm applying here."
Brian McClair's Panel Pick 2: Newcastle 1-2 Man Utd - 11/1 With Betovo
