Throughout the season, Manchester United and Celtic legend Brian McClair will be giving his predictions for every Premier League match.

In four seasons at Celtic, Brian made 471 appearances in all competitions and scored 127 goals, securing the Scottish Premier League and Scottish FA Cup while finishing as top-scorer for the Hoops on four occasions.

His prolific goalscoring record quickly attracted the attention of clubs south of the border and in 1987, Brian became Alex Ferguson's first signing at Manchester United, going on to win four Premier League titles, two FA Cups and the European Cup Winners' Cup in his 11 years at Old Trafford.

Brian joins The Panel for the 2024/25 Premier League season to pass expert judgement and give his score predictions for all of the games whilst The Panel examine the football betting sites to find the best odds.

Everton Vs Man City, Saturday, 3pm

Manchester City will be looking to boost their Champions League qualifying hopes when they travel to Everton on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola’s side head to Goodison Park aiming to ensure they stay in contention to secure a top-five finish, with the likes of Chelsea, Newcastle and Aston Villa providing stiff competition.

But it won't be easy against a resurgent Everton who have suffered just one defeat in 12 league games since David Moyes’ return. 

Brian says: “Everton are winless in their last 16 Premier League games against Manchester City dating back to January 2017.

“However, since David Moyes returned to the club in January, only Liverpool and Arsenal have lost fewer Premier League games than the Toffees.

"That said, I think City have more to play for here and that will be the difference as they extend that unbeaten run."

Aston Villa Vs Newcastle, Saturday, 5.30pm

Two European hopefuls meet on Saturday evening as Aston Villa hosts Newcastle. 

Villa scored three times in the second half to cruise past Southampton last weekend. 

They’ll now need to pick themselves up following Champions League heartbreak against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday as they go for a fifth straight league win.

Newcastle also dominated the second half last weekend on their way to a 4-1 win over Manchester United.

Brian says: “Aston Villa have won their last four Premier League matches and are looking to win five in a row for the first time since April 2023.

“However, only Liverpool and Arsenal have won more away Premier League points this season than the Magpies.

"These two sides are in great form with Champions League football on the line, but I can see Villa bouncing back after their midweek disappointment to take three crucial points."
