Premier League Title Odds: Man City Odds-On To Defend Crown

Betting sites are already offering odds on next season’s Premier League title race and Manchester City are odds-on to defend their crown.
Pep Guardiola’s side have won four titles in five seasons and, with the arrival of Erling Haaland due this summer, the Citizens are only going to get stronger.
That’s why most football betting sites go around 8/13 on City defending their title again next season, which would make them the first team since Manchester United (2006/07 – 2008/09) to win three in a row.
Liverpool, who have finished runners-up to City three times in the past nine seasons, are once again expected to put up the strongest fight, with bookmakers going around 2/1 on the Reds next term.
Chelsea finished the 2021/22 season tamely and have therefore been handed long odds of 16/1, making them third favourites – although the Blues face a challenging summer with new owners still to be determined.

Two interesting long shots in the Premier League outright betting are Manchester United (20/1) and Tottenham (25/1).
United will have former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag in the hot seat and much is expected of the Dutchman, although even the most demanding of United supporters could not imagine him challenging City in his first season.
Major Outsiders
The list beyond the top five clubs in the betting is trivial at best, with Arsenal (40/1) not expected to mount much of a challenge having finished outside the top four in 2021/22.
Newcastle fans may fancy a small wager on their club at 50/1 with bet365 though. The Magpies have been one of the most consistent teams in the Premier League in 2022 on the back of lavish spending in January.
They are likely to continue investing in the squad this summer and are already being linked to exciting signings such as Paolo Dybala and Paul Pogba.
Beyond that, Leicester (100/1) and West Ham (100/1) have challenged for Champions League positions in recent years but it would take a remarkable set of circumstances to see either of them becoming City’s biggest problem.
