Punchestown Festival Tips: Best Bets For Day Three

The Punchestown Festival continues with day three, with another day of top-class racing on the cards.

This week has already seen plenty of drama and big-priced winners, and the betting sites have enjoyed a good time so far.

Punters will be hoping to bounce back on day three, and we have picked out three horses to keep an eye on throughout the day.

Punchestown Festival Day 3 Tips

Tip 1: 16:15 - Bill Joyce 0.5pts Each-Way - 11/1 With Bet365 (6 Places)

This is one of the most wide-open races of the week, and a case can be made for nearly all runners.

Saying that, Bill Joyce has been crying out for a step up in trip, and he gets it today over three miles.

The one concern is that he has been keen in his races, so it will be important for Richie McLernon to get him to settle.

He has performed well in Graded company this season, but fell at Aintree last time.

He is a talented sort and he is fairly treated off a mark of 134 on his handicap bow.

Horse racing betting sites are paying out to six places, which makes a price of 11/1 very tempting.

Tip 2: 17:25 - Only By Night 1pt Win - 9/2 With Ladbrokes

Majborough will be all the rage in this one, but he disappointed his backers in the Arkle at Cheltenham.

He will be on a redemption mission here and will need to brush up on his jumping to prevail.

Only By Night took advantage of Majborough's mishaps to finish second in the Arkle, and she may be worth siding with again at the prices.

She brought an unbeaten status into that race, and only went down by under a length.

Gavin Cromwell's mare will get the 7lbs allowance again, and is worth taking a chance on at 9/2.

Tip 3: 18:00 - Teahupoo 1pt Win - 15/8 With William Hill

Speaking of redemption missions, Teahupoo is on his own in the Champion Stayers Hurdle.

Gordon Elliott's charge lost his Cheltenham Stayers' Hurdle last time, but you can't knock his performance, and he looked as good as ever.

He was beaten by Bob Olinger on that occasion, but faces nothing of his quality in this race.

Victorious in this contest 12 months ago, everything points towards another big performance under Sam Ewing.
