On what looks a tough card for punters, Walbank stands out (along with Reach For The Moon later on) as a short-priced banker for those that want to get in and out of today’s racing in rapid fashion.
Walbank has looked one of the smartest two-year-old colts in training so far having run to a high standard at Ascot on debut (form took a major boost when fourth went close in the Coventry Stakes on Tuesday) before taking a big step forward at York last time.
The son of Kodiac bolted clear of some average rivals without his rider having to get anything like serious and this exciting colt looks extremely hard to beat on ground he should relish. He can give David Loughnane a second Royal Ascot winner, six years after the first.
3.40 Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes

With most horse racing betting sites offering at least five places, it looks worth throwing a dart at the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes.
David Barron (who now trains alongside daughter Nicola) has never saddled a Royal Ascot winner but he probably won’t have had many with such a convincing chance as Contact, who comes here on a hat-trick.
This strong stayer (was balloted out of the Copper Horse Stakes) should prove well suited by the likely even gallop of this big-field contest and, if he sees his race out in the way he did at Haydock last time, he’s going to play a major role in the finish.
His speed figures are right up there with the best of these, he gets on really well with Ben Curtis and there could easily still be more to come from this improving four-year-old.
4.20 Coronation Stakes

John and Thaady Gosden are still to have a winner this week and their Inspiral looks worth taking on given this is her first start since October.
Cachet looks sure to go well for George Boughey, but it might be worth taking a chance on Tenebrism despite her disappointing 1,000 Guineas performance.
On the evidence of that Newmarket effort, she doesn’t get a mile but she was beaten a long way out that day and it may just be that she wasn’t at her best for whatever reason.
It’s impossible to forget her incredible last-to-first victory in last season’s Cheveley Park Stakes and it is surely way too soon to be giving up on this superbly bred filly.

5.00 Sandringham Stakes
1pt win Heredia (NAP) - best odds 9/2 with Betfair
Heredia is the proverbial ‘group horse in a handicap’ and connections certainly believe she has the ability to race at a much higher level because they have given her an entry in the Group 1 Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket.
Unbeaten in three starts, it was her York success last time that really marked her down as a filly to follow because things did not go according to plan on the Knavesmire.
She was trapped behind horses with nowhere to go around two furlongs out, forcing Sean Levey to take drastic action by switching his filly markedly left.
Heredia picked up superbly in the final furlong to run down the leader despite conceding 6lb to that progressive rival, and she was clearly value for a good deal more than the winning margin.
The step up to a mile looks nailed on to bring out further improvement. She looks a standout in this and betting sites have shown their respect for her by making her the favourite.
