The original Goodwin Racing brand was established in 1997, but BetGoodwin Casino didn’t launch until 2023. 

Headquartered in East Sussex in the UK, BetGoodwin is starting to gain a loyal following here in Ireland, thanks to the great selection of more than 1,300 games, plus generous promos like 50% back on your early losses. 

BetGoodwin is an online casino operated by the well-known brand Goodwin Racing Limited. The site holds a license from the UK Gambling Commission, and here in Ireland it’s regulated by the Revenue Commissioners, under the license number 1021087. 

The casino is registered with IBAS (the Independent Betting Adjudication Service) and GamCare, which provides support for responsible gambling. 

Unlike most other casino sites, BetGoodwin doesn’t give a straight up first deposit match. That’s both a good and a bad thing. Instead, you’ll get 50% of your first day’s losses back up to €50.

Wagering Requirements

To be able to withdraw any winnings from your bonus, you’ll need to wager the funds 5x. That means if you lose €20 and claim €10 back, you’ll need to wager €50 before you’ll be eligible to withdraw.

All slots excluding progressive jackpots contribute 100% towards wagering. Roulette and blackjack contribute 10%, while baccarat and progressive jackpots don’t count. 

Is the BetGoodwin Bonus Worth It?

There are a few great features about the BetGoodwin welcome bonus, which make it worth claiming. The 5x wagering requirements are easy to meet, and the maximum win of €500 is relatively generous for a cashback bonus. 

Our only issue with this promo is that if you get lucky and you’re up after your first day, you won’t get a casino bonus at all.

BetGoodwin offers secure and convenient payments, but unfortunately at the moment they only take Visa and Mastercard debit cards. It’s a little disappointing to see that e-wallets like Skrill and Neteller, and prepaid cards like paysafecard, aren’t accepted.

Withdrawals are generally very quick - you could get your winnings in as little as 30 minutes, but I have heard of some cases where it can take up to five days. 

At BetGoodwin, you’ll be able to sign up using details like your name, email address, and date of birth, and you won’t be required to do account verification immediately. 

However, before you can deposit, you’ll be asked for your address and then you’ll need to provide your ID or driving license, and a utility bill no more than three years old. I wasn’t able to play until all of this was verified, which can take a few days.

To meet anti-money laundering regulations, there’s also a chance that you’ll be contacted via email or post, to request a copy of the card you used for your deposit. I also noticed that I was asked for my occupation and salary range during the sign up process, a step which most Irish online casinos don’t have. 

I was pleased to see that BetGoodwin boasts a variety of more than 1,300 slot games. When I’m reviewing casino sites, I usually look for at least 1,000 games, so this one exceeded my expectations.

As I said, BetGoodwin has more than 1,300 games, but that’s likely to increase soon, as the site is always adding new games. At the time of my review, there were 174 titles in the new games section on the site.

New games include releases from top providers like Pragmatic Play, and some of the games have excellent features like Drops & Wins or Megaways. I even noticed a few newly added live casino games, for example, Sic Bo. 

Slots with Special Features

There’s no shortage of games that come with special features. For example, you can enjoy around 60 games with the Drops & Wins feature, where you could win a random cash prize every time you spin. There are also lots of Megaways slots like The Dog House Megaways and Big Bass Bonanza Megaways, where your ways to win change with every spin. 

Decent Live Casino Offering 

Blackjack and roulette are the two main types of games you’ll find in the BetGoodwin live casino. There are more than 50 blackjack tables and almost 25 roulette tables, including different variations like Blackjack Party, Lightning Blackjack, and Football Studio Roulette.

There’s also a good variety of interactive game shows like Crazy Time and Lightning Storm, and a few live dealer poker games. One thing that’s missing is baccarat, which was a big surprise. 

I was disappointed to see that there don’t seem to be any exclusive or branded live casino tables, but that’s a big ask, and it’s not at all unusual for live casinos to stick to the classics. 

Popular Mobile Apps

Betgoodwin offers downloadable casino apps for both iOS and Android. Although they’re billed as sports betting apps, both offer casino games as well. 

In general, the reviews are quite positive, if not amazing. The App Store rating sits at 3.3/5, and a few people called out that the app can be a little glitchy and the mobile site works better, although I didn’t run into any issues myself when I tested it.
